This book is a splendid read: Although college and even high school students can use it with no problem, I read it because I wanted to learn something about a field that I never got a chance to take a class in when I was in college. It's amazingly clear, and it brings to life issues that you thought were imponderable. But _Engaging Philosophy_ shows that actually you can ponder them, and even a learn a lot about where research is going on topics like ethics, the problem of free will, or what makes something a person. At the end of each chapter are also suggestions for further reading, and even for movies to watch that are relevant to the issues that the chapter discusses. I'm planning to give copies of this book to lots of relatives and friends interested in, but lacking much background in, philosophy. (At a mere 160 pages and for such a low price, how wrong can you go?) A gentle and fun introduction. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
