Meet the Author

H. W. Carless Davis (1874–1928) was a highly respected British historian, editor of the Dictionary of National Biography, and Oxford Regius Professor of Modern History. He published a number of histories, but is best known for his history England Under the Normans and Angevins 10661271, which became the standard work on the era.
