Reviewed by Anne B. for Readers Favorite

This book practically jumped off the shelf and into my arms. I am one of thirty-eight million women entering the "Age Of Elegance". I’d never thought of myself as the epitome of elegance, but the author reminds me that I should think of myself that way. Ladies let’s face it: life after 40 is different; it is like a wholly different era. Paul advises the reader to use this book to help establish priorities, investigate options, and discover qualities that will help them become women of elegance.

I love the way Paul brings issues to light. She discusses cosmetic enhancements. Should we just admit we are who we are and accept it or should we be making changes? Frankly, I’m all for ladies making changes they are comfortable with. I love the section on Classy or Cheesy. I know a dear lady that I consider to be classy; the list in that chapter describes her and what I want to be. Learning how to dress is very important. We are mature adult women and should no longer attempt to look or dress like a teeny bopper. She even addresses the issue of dying our hair. Wisely, Paul addresses diet and exercise. Along with age come aches, pains and often medications. Then there is the spiritual aspect of aging: regrets, repentance, restitution and rehabilitation.

Ms Chloe Jon Paul is obviously an elegant lady. Through her book I have learned much about how I too can be an elegant lady. I mentioned earlier that I have a friend that fits the description of elegance. For a long time I have tried to emulate her and learn from her. I have fallen short in the last few years. This book made me realize that I have been fighting growing older instead of waltzing into my elegant years. I will take Ms Paul’s advice to heart for I want to be an ELEGANT woman.

A Loving and Practical Guide for the Modern Maturing Woman

Easy to read, full-absolutely full-of research, resources and information, Entering the Age of Elegance is a book for all baby boomer women who want to live this second part of their life to the max. I honestly couldn't put it down.

There are plenty of books on aging, but Entering the Age of Elegance stands alone in its completeness. The author doesn't just tell you what to do, she tells you how, and offers resources galore for more exploration of this rite of passage; this age of elegance. It shouldn't be called a self-help book, but a book for SELF.

The reader is first encouraged to re-discover who they are right now, at this moment in time. Then identify the qualities they already possess, polish them, or remove those attributes that would prevent them from living a life of elegance. And then finally, affirm the choices they have made.

Written like a midlife travel guide, each chapter is clear, concise, and full of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual guidance. The subtitles are as entertaining as the information inside is valuable. There are topics like, Change Your Oil Filter, The Will and Grace Scenario, Beyond Support Pantyhose, and Just Heard It through the Grapevine.

While some readers have labeled it a midlife road map, and some have called it a manual for living midlife, I believe that after reading Entering the Age of Elegance, everyone will agree that transitioning into midlife and beyond can now definitely be made with style and grace. Whatever the stage of your journey, you'll definitely want to read this book and probably more than once; and then return to it often for the many resources inside.

    I Also Recommend:

Entering the Age of Elegance is a must-read for women 40+

This book, written as a travel guide for modern maturing women takes the reader from planning this fabulous journey to the boarding gate. The author helps dispels those awful myths about aging and provides plenty of additional resources to explore if the reader wishes to go further in depth on a particular topic.

The Table of Contents will spark your curiosity and make you want to read the book to find the answer to such thought-provoking subtitles as "The F-Word You Need to Use", "Think MSN", "The Ten Commandments of Aging Motherhood" and "Beyond Support Pantyhose".
