This book was easy to follow as to the instructions and the whole step process of Entrelac, Bravo, better than most books I seen on this subject. Good even for a beginner.

The interlocking square or diamond pattern created by the entrelac technique of knitting has always fascinated me. I found a simple description of this method in a knitted afghan pattern several years ago and found it to be fairly easy and very satisfying. Since that experience I have planned to try using the technique in other projects but was not quite sure how to go about it. I could always make another afghan but wanted to take it a step farther. Then I found this book all about entrelac and just had to give it a try. I have not been disappointed. In this volume you get a chance to become familiar with the basic technique of entralac. The step-by-step instructions are clearly laid out with full color photos that lead you through each and every step of the process. Then there are the variations! I simply love the swatch glossary section where you can try out all sorts of variations of the basic design. The possibilities are endless and simply dare your imagination to take wing. Finally, there are more than 25 wonderful projects with complete and detailed patterns to explore and create. This beautifully illustrated book with full color photographs is a delight to study. I have already picked out several projects to try. Gotta go, my needles are calling me....

I learned entrelac in a class -- and then bought this book which allows me to take the technique further ... Learned to make a scarf and hat in my class -- and am looking forward to knitting some of the projects in this book. It is well written and easy to follow. The illustrations are beautiful and the new ideas for entrelac knitting are wonderful! I love it!!!

This is a great book for knitters that have learned how to Entrelac and are looking for that next step. For knitters that have not tackled Entrelac before, the book starts off with a step-by-step, easy to follow "Basic Entrelac" tutorial filled with color pictures on what the Entrelac should look like at each step. The real meat of this book is Chapter 2's "Swatch Glossary." From different designs with knit and purls stitches, (including garter, seed, moss, and all other combinations of stitches), to lace designs, small cables, and finally, to working with color, (with some embroidery and felting options along wth way), the Swatch Glossary provides a multitude of options that will keep all knitters entertained and satisfied. Chapter 3 digs right into the patterns. Here's the chance to pick out a favorite version of Entrelac and start on a project right away. Finally, Chapter 4 provides an overview of designing with Entrelac for those knitters that have been inspired to create their own Entrelac patterns. There's also a handy "Entrelac Grid" to photocopy and experiment with colors. If you've EVER been interested in Entrelac, buy this book!
