About the Author

Professor Roberto Marci received his medical degree from La Sapienza University of Rome in 1991. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1995 and then worked at the Unit of Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecological Endocrinology at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, where he received his PhD degree in 2000. In 2001 he became an Assistant Professor at the Unit of Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecological Endocrinology at the University of L’Aquila, Italy. He is currently an Associate Professor at Ferrara University, where he established and directed the Infertility Unit at Arcispedale Sant’Anna Hospital, and introduced a special service for the clinical management of endometriosis. In 2014 he was the Program Director of both Ferrara University Hospital’s residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Ferrara University Hospital’s Midwifery School. In 2015 was an Invited Professor at the University of Geneva (CH), where he contributed to the design and development of the Endometriosis Unit at the University Hospital of Geneva (HUG). Since 2017 he has been a member of the steering group for the drafting of WHO guidelines in the field of reproductive medicine. He is a respected reviewer and member of the editorial boards of several scientific journals, and is also a member of various national and international societies. His research focuses on reproductive medicine, endocrinological gynaecology and endometriosis.
