Meet the Author

Dr. Edward Howell began his study of food enzymes more than eighty years ago. After receiving a medical license from the state of Illinois, he spent six years on the professional staff of the Lindlahr Sanitarium, a well-known “nature cure” hospital. In 1930, Dr. Howell established his own facility for the treatment of chronic ailments, utilizing nutritional and physical therapies. Until his retirement in 1970, Dr. Howell devoted his time to both his private practice and his food and soil enzyme research.  He continued his writing and research efforts up until the time of his death in 1988.

    Not a very simple read but does a great job in explaining the cr

    Not a very simple read but does a great job in explaining the critical importance of enzymes, both those produced by our bodies and those provided by raw foods to assist in the digestive process and not deplete our enzyme reserves.  Much more to it than that, and definitely worth the read for those in the nutritional health field.

    Excellent book! More people need to read this instead of trying

    Excellent book! More people need to read this instead of trying to make sense of all of their calorie and fat counting. The book is a bit technical but with a very simple over all concept. We have been fed so much misleading and conflicting health information and this book makes some sense than anything I have read.

    complicated

    This book was not helpful for me. I read the entire book in about a couple of hours. I found no useable information. Alot of comparison between animal enzyme and human enzyme, which was interesting, but not applicable.
