Whoa. Ephemeral was C-R-A-Z-Y. The good kind of crazy, definitely. You have a spirited, hard-headed main character in Laken, whose passion and temperament rivals that of her Celestra Series counterpart, Skyla. Laken, who also is dropped into the crazy world of angel factions, the Transfer, and viscious high school rivals, also has the dreaded/beloved love triangle to deal with.

Yes, another triangle. For fans of Moore's Celestra Series, you know this is a good thing! This time, we have Wes, Laken's one true love, her perfect match. But, there's also Cooper. A sweetheart of a guy, who seems more willing to believe Laken and to help her uncover her past and the truth about what is happening in this insane alternate world. Laken wants to be with Wes, loves him, but cannot deny her attraction to Cooper. I have a feeling this entanglement may end up rivaling that of Skyla/Gage/Logan.

Ephemeral had so much going on. You have Laken trying to navigate and unravel this alternate world she wakes up in. The people from her other life are not the same in this world. Her family is not the same. Laken is driven to the edge wondering whether she is dead, alive, or insane. Those she trusted in her old life are the same she must be wary of in this new life. There are monsters in the forest, possible evil among her family and friends, and a battle for her heart and mind.

Ephemeral is a great spin-off to the Celestra Series. Those who've read and loved that series will be extremely happy with this new series. I'm excited to find out what happens next in book two, Evanescent.

I am new to the writings of Addison Moore, and I must say that I

I am new to the writings of Addison Moore, and I must say that I am a paranormal snob when it comes to a good paranormal story. I am quite impressed with Mrs. Moore's writings and how you almost have to second guess your thought process on what is going on because you are so pulled into the story as a reader. Def a twisted plot to a lover's triangle, and not your typical Twilight reject story.

There is alot going on in this book between different characters, however you able to follow smoothly with the different transitions due to the smooth writing of Mrs. Moore. I say if you are interested in a different kind of a paranormal romance with a twisted plot. This is a great read!

This is a roller coaster of a story! Is Laken in Heaven or a wait station, or totally somewhere else? She is still in high school dealing
with bratty girls with perfect bodies and pouty lips. She finds her beloved boyfriend Wes, but he tells her they are just friends. Nothing
seems to be real to her until she another boy, Cooper comes into her life. Together they fight to find the truth.
This book does not have an ending as it is a trilogy. Can't wait to read the next book.

    Repetitive

While i found this book to be an interesting and exciting read...the author severely over uses a few choice phrases like "it feels good like this...". And whole love triangle thing is way over played. Her other series features a love triangle that stretches over 8 or so books. Do we really have to read about it again? Overall a great read, but there were a few elements of this book that i just couldnt get behind.

Through the whole book I kept wondering: Is this a dream? Is she

Through the whole book I kept wondering: Is this a dream? Is she dead? What!? It kept me wanting to know more, and I flew through the pages. This story was definitely unique which is something that is hard to find. When you find a truly original book, it's like finding a rare gem. Which is exactly what Ephemeral is. I can't wait to see where the author takes us with this series! Ephemeral by Addison Moore was provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.

    One crazy twist...

Ephemeral is one enormous, complex twist. Laken finds herself in a world where the impossible is real and the truth is hidden. Those she thought were dead are in the flesh and people she doesn't recognize are wreaking havoc on her sanity. What is real? Who should she believe?

I liked Laken ~ she's determined and courageous. The girl's got some raging hormones, though, and it's no wonder. What would you do if the guy you've loved all your life ~ who you thought was six feet under ~ happened to turn up in this alternate universe you've woken up in? I'm not sure I'd be able to reign myself in either. But Wes seems to be more of a distraction than anything ~ something to keep an eye on Laken. He diverts her attention, and instead of asking the most important questions ~ like why am I here? ~ Laken stays pretty occupied in her awe of his magical reappearance.

I'm totally team Coop ~ all the way. The guy is just amazing. C'mon Laken, what are you thinking? Wes is your long dead love reincarnated and all that, but he's definitely not the same guy, and you know this! Laken finds herself torn between her heart and her memory, and it's excruciating...

Love triangles aside, the storyline is pretty imaginative, to say the least. There's a whole new level of zombie and angel ~ an odd combo that, surprisingly, works... Although, I do wish there was a little more history on the whole Nephilim thing .. It's there, but I just felt it deserved a little more focus.. But overall, the twisted combination of conspiracy tied in with angel blood and zombies (or in this case, Spectators) ~ enticing ;)

Addison Moore's writing style is incredible. This writer has a vocabulary that had me using my kindle dictionary constantly. It's poetic ~ the descriptions are beautiful, haunting, and completely unique. Laken's voice is smart and hilarious at times, her sarcasm and blunt manner completely grasping.

Overall, great read! I really enjoyed Laken's introduction to this crazy world where the truth is beyond anything she could ever have imagined. Can't wait to see how the story continues!

Four out of five stars from this reader :)

    I Also Recommend:

Wow, Addison Moore, does it again, creates a stunning story!

Wow, this book was awesome, non-stop excitement and some witty funny parts too. For those who have not read the Celestra series by Addison Moore, I recommend you get on it, BUT you do NOT have to read them before this one, But Addison did say, characters from this book, will be showing Up in the next Celestra book Toxic, so those who read and enjoy the Celestra books, read this one before Toxic is out.
Ok, so I will do my best to keep this spoiler free. I know there are many who had not read the Celestra series, so I will give a vague rundown of who and what the Celestra are.
We have several factions of angels,(Nephilim) who live among us, most have very diluted blood of the angels, but some are pure. Now in the Celestra series, the main character there, Skyla, is as pure as you can get of the Celestra factions, and there is a war between the factions. Countenance is another faction, now that’s what our main character in Ephemeral is.

Now, I went into this book, thinking I would have to accept and like the Countenance now (they are evil bloodsucking creeps, and I mean that literally, they like to drink the blood of the Celestra, as it’s the only way they can get the powers of the Celestra, like time travel, mind reading, etc.) We have other factions, won’t get into them all, but the Sectors are on Celestra’s side (and if you’re up on those books, that’s what yummy Marshall is, a Sector) it seems besides the Celestra, the Sectors are the most powerful. Countenance just wish they were, but aren’t. There is the Levato, which is a smaller faction, also sides with Celsetra. Countenance has the Fems on their sides and the ones I only learned of in this book, called the Spectators, they are gross zombie like Counts, the failed resurrection attempts. Yuck.

So, now back to this story, Laken, wakes up in a strange forest, with the last memory being flying through the windshield in a car accident. But she is not in Kansas anymore, she finds she is in Ephemeral, Connecticut, and has no idea how she gets there.

Well, these Counts (or whoever is pulling the strings, not sure) try to create her a whole new set of memories, but she still remembers her old (real) life in Kansas, she is confused , especially when she sees her brother and Wes, the love of her life, alive and well, except they died 2 years ago in a lake drowning, so this is where they went, but they have no memory of her in that life, just some false memories, and it’s frustrating for her. No one believes her. Until Cooper, he is the only one who does.

I do not want to say much more. But will say, it’s extremely exciting, and I just love Cooper, he is the real deal. I also am super thrilled that Laken, who’s blood is a Count (Countenance) hates what they stand for as much as I do, so yay, she’s a rebel, and plans to infiltrate their inner circle to find her Kansas sister and mom (who she finds out something interesting about) and wants to get her old life back. Her heart is pulled between Wesley and Cooper, Wes is the guy she was with in Kansas and was heart broken when he “died” but this new Wes is not anything like the old Wes, he is brainwashed, she wants the old Wes back. Then we have sweet Cooper who is NOT brainwashed, and is helping her all he can. He even can help her get some of them Celestra powers she needs to beat these Counts at their own game.
    I highly recommend this book.

    Love the characters

This story is really good, pulls you right in and you don't want to stop reading. Editting did not do a great job though. I had missing pages in my copy and the page numbers were wacky, skipping 20-30 pages each time I turned. It was a very long book, but didn't feel that way because of the great characters. It is very similar to the Celestra series as far as development goes....which could be why I loved it!
