With over one million novels in print, New York Times best-selling author Joel C. Rosenberg has been called “eerily prophetic” and a “modern Nostradamus” for his uncanny ability to write political thrillers that come true. In his first nonfiction book, this evangelical Christian from an Orthodox Jewish heritage takes readers on an unforgettable journey through prophecy and current events into the future of Iraq after Saddam, Russia after Communism, Israel after Arafat, and Christianity after radical Islam. You won't want to miss Joel's exclusive interviews with Israeli, Palestinian, and Russian leaders, and previously classified CIA and White House documents. Similar to the approach Joel takes in his novels, his desire is to draw readers into stories, anecdotes, and predictions in a way that builds confidence that allows Joel to share his faith in Jesus Christ and the reliability of Scripture as a guide to understanding the past and the future.

Drawing on his experience in Washington, his own exclusive interviews with world leaders, and his astute political acumen, Joel makes sense of the events surrounding the Middle East. He connects information in a way that will make you understand and really care about the world's most important events and how they impact your life—from gas prices to your bank account.

Epicenter is about:

Epicenter will answer questions like:
  • Will Iraq go from bad to worse?
  • Will Israel and her Arab neighbors find peace, or is another major Middle East war just around the corner?
  • If the new, post-Soviet Russia is our friend, why is the Kremlin creating a new class of thermonuclear weapons and building an alliance with radical Islam?

"It was one thing to write a novel that opened with a kamikaze attack against America that essentially comes to pass. But until that moment, few people had been talking publicly about the possibility of going to war with Iraq. Except me." // EPICENTER, PAGE 4

2. Did the events of that day alter your thinking about national security, the role of the United States on the world stage, and the situation in the Middle East? If so, explain. Why or why not? _____________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________

6. Read the following Scriptures and note what each one says about God's Word: 2 Samuel 22:31 Psalm 119:16 2 Timothy 3:16 _____________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________

Epicenter is a very deep, thought-provoking book. Rosenberg brilliantly portrays the world as it is today, and outlines past events according to biblical scripture. Also, a majority of the book foretells possible future events, following the prophecy of Ezekiel, Chapters 38 and 39. Reading this book is a very eye-opening experience to those who do not know much about the end times and the signs of its coming. Some may refute his theories, due to the controversy of revelation. Either way, most Christian scholars and educators believe there will be a rapture and a second coming of Christ. Rosenberg¿s book is primarily about the signs indicating the coming of the rapture/ tribulation. If he¿s wrong about the signs, who cares- at least we are on guard and believe it will come sometime. Either way, this book is very interesting and moving. Honestly, this book inspires us to be better Christians and live our lives in the name of God. This is a very profound subject, and can¿t be ignored, especially in the world we live in today. I respect Mr. Rosenberg, and thank him for this extraordinary book. I recommend this book to anyone who can handle the heavy content it possesses, and is able to keep things in perspective. Overall, this book is spectacular, and makes for a worthwhile read.

Joel Rosenberg writes good stuff! He studies and knows what he is talking about and as he is from a Jewish background, that makes his insight even better.

I think the Epicenter is not only thought provoking, but presents sound truth, based on the book of truths, the Bible. Even though we cannot know the exact day or hour, it is clearly presented in the scriptures that the Christian should not be caught unaware, because we are children of the day and not the night. In saying that, we are not to get so focused as to forget that we have a work to do until that appointed time. We are to be about our Father's business, telling others of the 'Good News of the Gospel 'Jesus Christ is the truth, the way, and the life, and NO man comes to the Father, except through Him.' I don't expect the unbeliever to comprehend what is going on, because they can't they don't have the Holy Spirit living within. Sinners are dead in their trespasses and sin, and only Christ can bring life to their spirit. Great reading, and I would encourage people to order it through Barnes & Noble Now! 'Lift up your heads O Christians, for your redemption does draw near!' Maranatha

I would give this book 5 stars, because it is exceptional, however, it could use updating to include the most current events. It was published in 2006, so perhaps it will be updated in the next year. That would be wonderful, as I’d like to read it again. That criticism aside, Epicenter has a wealth of information concerning prophecy, the Middle East, and the world as a whole. The author is extremely knowledgeable, and his caring and respectful attitude toward all peoples is evident. Epicenter is very well researched, documented and well written. It is also exceedingly readable and interesting. I recommend it to those interested in the future of mankind.

Joel Rosenburg hits the nail on the head in his book the Epicenter I have studied Revelation for years, this book sums it up. If you want to understand more clearly what is happening in the middle east and how it will effect you, pick up this book.

Epicenter takes literature intended for two thousand years ago recdorded in the Bible, and tries to apply it to the events of today. While Holocaust victims have been saying 'never again' since Nazi Germany, we now have a call from Fundamentalist Christians like Rosenburg, for a nuclear Holocaust over Israel. Rather than working for peace as Christians should, they are fanning the flames of war and hatred in books like Epicenter. Playing on peoples fears proves to turn a quick buck for false prophets like Rosenburg and others who exploit the middle east situation to line their pockets, rather than work for the peace that is desperately needed.

I had recently read a book called 'Night' by a halocaust survivor. In the little town of Singlet Transylvania, the Jews of foreign birth were separated and put on trains 'to work in a brickyard'. One of the men escaped and though wounded returned to the village and told fantastic stories of mass murder with only he as a survivor. I found it amazing that no one believed him and instead preferred to believe that things were going to be OK, right up to the point where the Nazi's returned and removed the remaining villagers. Joel Rosenberg, is waving the warning flag today. Sure he may have some of the details wrong but the signs are there. We ignore them at our own peril.

For those of you who may not remember Hal Linsey's Late Great Planet Earth (1970), you could save yourself a few dollars, if you could find that classic dud. Mr. Linsey begins chapter one of his book with a quote from Demosthenes, a prominent Greek statesman and orator. 'We believe Whatever we want to believe'. Amen to that statement, for 36 years ago, Mr. Linsey captivated this country with his view that what was happening in the Middle-East was Biblical Prophecy coming to pass....Many, of this ilk, have been hawking this flawed theological view of prophecy, for decades. History is all neatly laid out, for the Premil, Dispensational crowd. They can boggle your mind, with charts and graphs, and projecting the latest news event into their presentations. Mr. Rosenburg is riding into the limelight, off the coatails of 9-11, with some supposed mind boggling insight he recognized before it happened. Well, I believe the terrorist will soon use Stinger missles to bring down airliners. Does that make me a prophet, or one who simply recognizes the obvious. Using planes as a destructive weapon is sure not an orignal idea, ask the Japanesse, who used planes as missles, in WWII. Look folks, the Middle East does have the potential to blow up into a nasty big war, but who says this would be the end of the world? Mr. Rosenburg uses Ezekiel, chapter 36, 37, and 38 as though he has found the key to understanding world events. Mr. Linsey had this same approach three decades ago. Mr. Rosenburg does not point out that many well known, and respected Biblical theologians do NOT share his views. Its the same ole game, Hal Lindsey played, and here's how it goes. Don't trouble me with facts, and sound thinking, just tickle my ears with half truths, and speculation, and sprinke in just enough Bible, to make me think you know what your talking about........Probably 36 years from now, another Joel Rosenburg will appear, catapulted into the spotlight, by some future event that can be used to tickle the ear. Unfortunately, many will flock to the book stores, and once again prove that you can fool most of the people, most ot the time.

This book has been out over 3 years now and we have not seen a nuclear exchange in the middle east or Jesus coming in the clouds to rapture up his elect. It is a repeat of Hal Lindseys "Late Great Planet Earth" written in the 70's and predicting the end of the world which never came.
Jesus himself is quoted as saying to his audience "some of you standing here will not taste death until they see the son of Man coming"(Matt. 16:27,28), and "this generation will not pass away until all these things take place" (Mark 13:26-30) The Bible is a product of man and was written for the people of it's own time. The Book of Ezekial quoted so often was written for the Israelites coming out of captivity in Babylon. As Christians even in a nominal sense we should be working for peace with people of other faiths, not putting out stuff like this that causes division and hatred with Muslims and their faith.
