Overview

BOOK 3 OF THE DARK DUET

I’m writing this because you begged. You know how I love the begging. In fact, you probably know too many things and know them far too well.

Who am I?

Well, that’s what I’m trying to figure out. I was a whore in my youth, a killer since my adolescence, and a monster as a man. I am the man who kidnapped Livvie. I am the man who held her in a dark room for weeks. But, most importantly, I am the man she loves.

She loves me. It’s quite sick, isn’t it?

Of course, there’s more to our story than can be surmised in a few short sentences, but I’m at a loss for justifying my behavior back then. I assume if you’re reading this, I don’t need to make those justifications. You’ve already made your own.

You’re reading this because you want to know about the rest of the story. You want to know what happened that warm summer night in September of 2010, the night I met Livvie at The Paseo. It was the night my life changed all over again.

It didn’t happen exactly as Livvie said. She’s been very kind to me in the retelling of our story. The truth is far more…complicated.

    Great

This book was unexpected (I did not know there was this epilogue in the works). So it was a great surprise and a fantastic reminder of why I loved the previous two books so much. The writing is exceptional, the characters disturbing and engaging at once but above all, full of humanity. In the end this is truly a story of love, hope and redemption. I could not have thought of a better way to bring closure to all the violence that started it all.

BOOK 3 OF THE DARK DUET

    My Thoughts

OMG! I can't believe that I waited to read this book. CJ Roberts did it again! I love hearing from Caleb/ James. To know some of how he was and is feeling. The fact that he wanted to be everything Livvie needed. It is awkward and frustrating, but filled with passion and desire. CJ gives us a great story with HOT sex scenes that had me blushing and of course hot and bothered. Haha

This is one of my all time favorite series! If you have been living under a rock and haven't read it yet I suggest you get your ass in gear and get ready for the ride of your life!!

    ***5 Orgasmic, Satisfying stars***

Epilogue is told through Caleb's POV. It picks up precisely where Seduced In The Dark, concluded. We get a chance to explore and digest the consequences of Caleb's actions and how he tries to redeem himself to win back the woman he loves.

"I don't know if you're right, Sophia. I know you deserve to be happy. I know you deserve someone...better, but I'm selfish. I want you. I want you bad enough to try to be someone better

Along the process we are rewarded with plenty of HOT SCORCHING MOMENTS.... Caleb and Livvie's chemistry is OFF THE RICHTER SCALE

I loved how we were given the chance to see a different side of Caleb, he was still dark and gritty, but at the same time funny, sarcastic, and vulnerable. This new Caleb just solidified my love for him.
    Caleb

    Livvie

Epilogue was the perfection conclusion to Caleb and Livvie's story. I COULD NOT stop grinning from Caleb's inner monologue and was delighted to see we got some answers. This couple will FOREVER me embedded in my heart. Their LOVE story is unconventional, with darkness and misery but their journey is the REWARD

PERFECT ENDING to the most beloved couple..

    Well written

Short read but packed with deep insight from Caleb. Really satisfying ending to their twisted love story. Well written and worth every penny.

This was the best book out of the three.  It was absolutely brilliant.  I loved the fact it explained that the first two books were written by Olivia from her perspective and that this book was written by Caleb to explain things from his.  It wasn't just his explanation that was good, it was the way he talked directly to the reader.  "I'm writing this because you begged. You know how I love the begging. In fact, you probably know too many things and know them far too well."

Caleb bares his soul and his love for Livvie and hers for him, even though he doesn't feel he deserves it. "But, most importantly, I am the man she loves. She loves me. It's quite sick, isn't it?"

If you enjoyed the first two books you won't want to miss this one. As Caleb says, "It didn't happen exactly as Livvie said. She's been very kind to me in the retelling of our story. The truth is far more...complicated."

Of course I loved it! My favorite series. Such a treat to read more about Caleb and Livvie. To be told in Caleb's POV, doesn't get any better.

This book as well as the series

has left a profound impression on me. I LOVED/HATED the two previous books--Captive and Seduced. I especially loathed Caleb, and quite frankly didn't want to like him, ever!!! Well, thls last book in this disturbingly wonderful series has changed my opinion. Having written this from Caleb's point of view was genious! Delving into his mind and background gave another dimension to his character! There is an exchange of feelings between Livie and Caleb after Caleb reads Livie's story of them is so realistic in how people miscommunicate and misinterpret each other was spectacular and, again, genious. Read the three books in order, AND, if you read the previous two but not this one, you are missing out! I strongly recommend this book and the whole series. I don't see how CJ could ever top this series!

    A not-so-perfect perfect ending!

You know, I think going into Epilogue was the first time I ever got to the end of a series and didn’t worry about all the things I loved about previous installment(s) blowing up in my face. I already knew that C. J. Roberts wasn’t about to yank the rug from under my feet. It helped that the first chapter had been posted on Facebook and it promised as much as it delivered. ;]

This’ll be a short review because I really only want to say one thing in particular, and that’s “Yes.” One big resounding “Yes.” Because this book was everything it needs to be and more. Caleb and Livvie had been through a lot and in Epilogue, they had to go through even more. They made leaps and bounds of progress by talking to each other and letting themselves trust one another and it just made it so happy to see that, yay, even two people as screwed up in the head as they are can make it together!

I offer Roberts a job well done and my hard-to-earn devotion for the rest of her book-writing career until she puts out something as painful as Hush, Hush. I’m afraid that’s the only thing that can keep me from gobbling up every story she writes from now on.

Plus, I really liked how their story kinda came full-circle, how Livvie actually “authored” Captive in the Dark and included Caleb’s perspective in the whole ordeal. It was a really cool idea that I thought fit seamlessly well within the narrative and even contributed to the construction of their trust and understanding in one another.

    Loved this series!

I have never written a review but I HAD too for this set of 3!! I feel as dark and twisted as the villians for loving these books. Nothing could've could have prepared me for the roller coaster ride my emotions were on....nothing! Open your mind and read them. Not your typical love story but it is definately a love story. Hope for a 4th......

This is the third book in the Dark Duet series. I believe true D

This is the third book in the Dark Duet series. I believe true Dark Duet fans will be taken in by Caleb (even more than they already are) just by his very first line: “I’m writing this because you begged.” I was only a few chapters in & already LOVED seeing this new side of him. Caleb is still haunted by Rafiq’s memory & Livvie struggles with her anger towards Caleb. Her anger stems from never being given the chance to be mad at him in the first place. Going into this book I thought the name changes would be confusing but they weren’t. Both characters deal with the trials of trying to build a “normal” relationship. I’m glad that they took their time to work through their issues & weren’t just “ok” right from their reunion. I was sad when I reached the last chapter because I didn’t want to say goodbye to Caleb….OR Livvie. The epilogue left me with the high hopes for their future. It also leaves e with hope that maybe years from now we may even get a chance to check back in with them. This is definitely one of my favorite series.
    - She hit me so hard my damn eyes were watering (I was not crying-eyes water. I think we all know I’m a badass and I don’t cry.)

I really loved this series. Don't get me wrong... it's not a &q

I really loved this series. Don't get me wrong... it's not a "pretty" story... it's dealing with a tough subject matter; I almost felt like it was a train wreck that I couldn't help but watch. But I thought that it was REALLY well written and had characters that were, while very flawed, were also very likeable and deserved their HEA.

    Love Caleb

Being honest even though I totally love Caleb this book was not necessary. Book 1 & 2 were great and this one was just okay. A bit unrealistic fiction but okay because i fell in love with the story before.

    Good Book

At first I did not like Caleb. This was the first dark series I have read. I like the hearts and flowers. This definitely was not a hearts and flowers series. At the end I love Caleb. This book sums it all up and is good from his point of view. I want more of Caleb and Livvie or James and Sophia whichever they now go by. I want them to have their happy ending.

I didn't know she made a third book . I'm so happy thanks

I'm in shock. First of all I didn't know that there was a third book out. I found this one by mistake. OH, I wish you could have seen my face, I had such a big smile from ear to ear. I was so please to have another chance to peek in at the world of Caleb and Livvie. The book has about 177 pages. Very well writen. You will find youself hook on the first page, from there on you will not be able to put it down. You must read the first two books in orde to understand this book.
But oh yes, by all means do read these book. You are going to love them. Thank you so much for writing this book for us CJ Robert.
