Eragon [Music from the Motion Picture]

All Music Guide - James Christopher Monger
Composer Patrick Doyle, who cast a dark cloud in a good way over Harry Potter on the soundtrack to 2005's Goblet of Fire does just the opposite for the film adaptation of the popular young adult novel Eragon. An amalgamation of the worlds of Potter, the Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and Anne Mcaffery's Dragonriders of Pern, Eragon is a by-the-book fantasy and it deserves a predictable score. Doyle takes a page from every schmaltzy trick in the "adventure film's composer" book, pulling the pulpy bits from John Williams and the heavy bits from Howard Shore with confidence and precision, but it doesn't make it worth listening to. Eragon

Alright folks. i have just finished reading the book. it was amazing. completely different from the movie, but still an amazing piece of work. this music completely captures every phase of the movie. which, in all respects, didn't do justice to the book, but was still a very very good movie. there were some parts, like when eragon is talking to arya and he says, "you look, fit for battle." i about died laughing. i couldn't believe they put that in the movie! almost every time eragon talked to her during the movie, he was such a boy. oh my goodness. such a boy. stumbling over his words and such. ok, anyways, off topic. buy this CD.. you'll listen to it everyday and become a dragon rider in no time. Excellent and Original!!!

The movie could have been way better but the soundtrack makes it worth it. Try reading the books while listening to this amazing soundtrack. It flows perfectly with the written story! This is one of my favorite fantasy soundtracks. My favorite song was "Once in a lifetime". Check this cd out!!!

    Eragon

The music is almost as good as the movie. Which was almost as good as the book. Read the book first, before seeing the movie, and you'll see what I mean. The movie was awesomely done, but if the book was carried out fully into movie-mode, it would've been better.
