I didn't like enough of this album to buy it almost 40 years ago, but now with the add songs, its become a new favorite. Many of the new songs are excetional and should have been on the album when first released.

The original LP version was total frustration, but this more than doubled CD version finally lets us share the experience of this historic concert. Now we can hear for ourselves that this is not only an historic concert but a damn good concert as well. Legends of Rock came from everywhere to be a part of Clapton's return to the stage. For those who only knew the old LP, give this CD a try, you won't be disappointed. For those who are unfamiliar with this concert, you are in for a treat.

Coming out of his self imposed exile, Mr. Clapton came out with a vengence in this live performance. This is a great return for him because if he had not agreed to this concert in 1973 there would have been a void that would have been impossible to fill. The band borrows heavily from the Layla Sessions, which I feel was a very emotional recording for Mr. Clapton.

This is perhaps one of the best blues-rock compilations ever assembled, but as a live album it's only mediochre. Most of the tracks are wonderfully performed, notably ''Roll it Over'' and ''Tell the Truth''. However, some songs here, like ''Key to the Highway'' and ''Crossroads'' have been done so many times by Clapton that they do not deserve another appearance on a live album. Some tracks are essential because they have more punch than the originals (''Let it Rain'', ''Badge'') but ''Layla'' is a bit weak, although it is the only electric version of the song available anywhere. Overall, the album isn't bad, it just isn't essential to the casual fan.

Have 12 of Claptons CD's Love every one August is great ever get a chance to see him live don't pass it up! He puts heart soul in everything he does not many NEW artist know how!

In the days of album expansion, it's not unusual for a record company to reissue an old album with a bonus track or two. This reconstruction of the January 13, 1973, comeback concert by Eric Clapton is something else again, however. The original six-track LP ran less than 27 minutes; the new 14-track expansion runs almost 74 minutes.
