Then there's an international conspiracy with double agents who switch teams so often that Ethan has to crack a code with his friend, Chen Jun, to solve the mystery. A++!

This book is the start of an excellent series. The writing is the best I have seen for the age group it is written for. This book although it is for young adults can be enjoyed by people ages 8-92! Readers will be thrown into the world of Ethan Sparks. Never have I seen a story that unravels into a marvelous, gripping plot as this one. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat. I urge everyone to get a copy of this book for your school and for your children - the depth of knowledge in this book is astonishing. A++ Nick Barry! Very well done!

    Fascinating story, Fun to Read

It is rare that a "first time published" author has both an interesting and entertaining story ALONG WITH a well-written one. Even J.K. Rowling wasn't a great writer until about the 4th book in her series (although, as we know, the story was good from the onset). Nick Barry has done both with this, his first book in his Ethan Sparks Adventure series.

Grabbing the reader from the first page, we are taken on an exhilarating ride from Beijing and Tiananmen Square to the Great Wall to Xi'an and the Terra-Cotta Warrior Museum -- learning about Chinese culture and history in an extremely entertaining manner -- through the eyes of Ethan Sparks, our hero. Along the way we become emmersed, with Ethan, in the very real world of artifact theft and the black market. To top it off, we learn about archaeology AND we get to experience Ethan become a little more mature by the end of the book as he uses his intelligence and wit to "save the day".

My son, in his early teens, loves this book and has already read it several times.

Well done, Mr. Barry! I am looking forward to your next installment.

Escape of the Terra-Cotta Soldiers, and Ethan Sparks Adventure by Nick Barry is exciting, educational and realistic

This book has all the adventure of Harry Potter, but is more realistic. Ethan Sparks does not have magic to get him out of trouble, he has to use his wits and intellect. Ethan thought he was accompanying his father on an archeological dig in China. But intead, he finds himself in the middle of a dangerous spy ring. While the adventure unfolds, the reader learns about Chinese culture, history and more. This is a great book for Middle School readers!
