All Music Guide - Bradley Torreano
Eskimos, Mean Old Queens and Little Bitty Steers is a collection of Ben Colder parodies paired up with the original songs he's lambasting. Whether it's Johnny Cash's "Ballad of a Teenage Queen" transformed into "Ballad of a Mean Old Queen" or Johnny Preston's "Running Bear" tweaked into "Running Bare," Colder's humor translates quite well when compared to the original songs.

    I Also Recommend:

The country comedian that inspired Weird Al

Another brilliant release from Bear Family Records. This time they give us the parodies of Ben Colder (Sheb Wooley) paired up with the original country song he made the parody of. In doing so they made it possible for those unfamiliar with that era to really appreciate both sets of songs (I sure hope they do this for Weird Al someday). This album is just hilarious! Plus the booklet has the lyrics of ALL the songs. I very highly recommend this CD. One thing to be aware of is that these are the Original Ben Colder recordings which cannot be said for most of the other compilations out there. This is the one to get.
