Letter From the Author

Congratulations on your decision to improve your English language
skills!

The flashcards in this book were chosen to help English
language learners build their intermediate-level vocabulary.
Whether you’re using this book for your own review, as part of
an ESL class, or as preparation for taking a standardized test such as
the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), these flashcards
are a great resource.

The book features 500 flashcards that cover intermediate-level
vocabulary. Each word is used in a sentence and includes a definition,
part of speech, and a pronunciation key to help you increase your
knowledge and understanding.

Many English language learners find themselves overwhelmed by
all the information in some ESL programs. These flashcards allow you
to study the vocabulary you need in small, manageable chunks of time.

The vocabulary terms are arranged from the easiest to the most
difficult words, so you can build your skills as you progress through
the book. You will notice that words that have been defined previously
are incorporated into the definitions of other words. This allows you
to learn the basic information about each word, while building your
vocabulary and understanding of the English language.

The book also includes a handy index, which allows you to look
up words easily. This will help you target words you'd like to review
while building your vocabulary.

After reviewing the vocabulary terms in the book, you can quiz
yourself with 300 interactive flashcards on CD. Specialized software
allows you to shuffle the cards and rate each word from easy to difficult.
This book and CD package will help build your English language
skills so you can express yourself clearly and with success!

    Not Recommended

They are not really flashcards in my opinion.

Students usually carry heavy cardstock flashcards around with them. This portability is a key to the flashcard concept. These so called "flashcards" are simply pages in a book.
