    Poor Instructional Manual

The book brushes very lightly on scales. You are better off with a copy of the Incredible Scale Finder by Hal Leonard Guitar Method. There are very few examples on turnarounds, Intro, and endings. This book may be OK for a play along but it NOT a good instructional book for learning. The songs aren't very good however, they are tabbed and do follow the CD. One good thing is that the CD does provide rhythm tracks for soloing and improvising. To learn Blues try Blues You Can Use by John Ganapes or Beginng Blues Guitar by David Hamburger. They do a much better job of teaching and provide better techniques and methods for playing along. Sorry Dave Celentano. This is just my opinion. Hope this review helps others.

Full of typos and bad fonts

For electric guitar. How does a book with this many typos get published? This is a weird book, and not in a good way. It has huge quotations about nothing in particular that take up half-pages.

The Best Essential Blues Guitar Book Ever!

I've been playing blues for years and I always enjoy picking up a CD or book every once in a while, just to learn something new. This book & CD is absolutely one of the best resources for learning the blues that I've EVER seen - AWESOME!!! If you learn the lessons in the book you'll be one heck-uv-a blues guitarist. A wide variety of styles are taught, also, the basics are covered: rhythm patterns, turnarounds, and tons of play-along blues songs - each tabbed perfectly. The play-along CD plays each of 10 songs twice - once with the lead, and again without so you can practice. This is simply a wonderful, inspiring & extremely well produced package (book & CD). If you love the blues, you've gotta have this book. Period.
