Overview

Book or eBook? What do you look for when you want information that's on the cutting edge? "Both!" is the answer from Hope Springs Press.

Essential Business Websites is written for business people who are coming online for the first time.

A series of jargon-stripped narrative excursions explore the essence of new business Websites ranging from email use to the new vocabulary of e-Commerce. They are specifically designed for busy executives and entrepreneurs who don't have time to waste "surfing" when they're looking for what's actually useful.

The new title is the second in the Essential Websites series, all of which are published in both print and electronic editions. The electronic edition, known as an "eBook," is included free with the printed book and is identical to the printed version. It is profusely illustrated with Website graphics to familiarize readers with what they will encounter online, and is organized in two-page spreads for ease of use at the computer.

The eBook also takes advantage of the interactivity of the Internet and includes hyperlinks to all Websites discussed. The table of contents, subject index and appendix are also fully hyperlinked so that the eBook may be used as an online reference source. It operates on both Windows and Macintosh computers.

About the Authors:

Authors Kitty Williams and Robin Lind are journalists whose syndicated WebPointers column has explored the Web since 1995. The first in their series, Essential NetNovice Websites, was published in March 1999 and drew widespread acclaim. The Portland Oregonian said "...the writing style is smart but approachable, and the online links are quick and straightforward. The WebPointers series takes more care to simply be useful rather than trying to be awesome."
