From The CriticsReviewer: Vincent F Carr, DO, MSA, FACC, FACP (Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences)
Description: This is a set of flashcards covering the basics of internal medicine.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide a collection of pocket-sized reference cards for medical students or residents encompassing general internal medicine concepts.
Audience: The audience is younger clinicians in training. These are a bit basic for experienced clinicians.
Features: The cards cover 75 topics commonly encountered in the clinic and hospital. Their pocket size is an advantage, but the fact that they are in black and white means the photographs do not show detail. However, the algorithms and tables are easy to understand.
Assessment: These flashcards are an excellent value for clinicians in training. They are a memory jogger for novices, and they are portable and encased in plastic so they can withstand being carried in a lab coat pocket.
