Great book if you need an general idea of the type of art represented by each era, but not very informative about artists or movements

This book offers a series of terrific one page reviews of artists and their work, grouped by movement. It doesn't offer any detail on the movements themselves, but instead illustrates each movement through example. It's a great book for someone looking for a non-intensive book on art history.

I love all the Essential books. This one is really good. It has the whole span of Art History, including cave paintings. I think this is a very informational book!!
