I went from rank beginner to, well, less rank beginner using this book. For starters, it explains the standard language and graphic terminology that is used to give origami instructions. The illustrations are very specific, including how to use your hands to fold the paper. In addition to traditional models, it includes models by individual origami esperts, so you can identify the work of people you like. And I liked the encouragement it provided, when you get stuck.

Of the hundreds of origami books out there, this is a very good one. I plan to continue to work with books by Steve and Megumi Biddle.

The majority of origam books I have seen have confusing directions where you have to figure out half of the folds yourself. This book is not one of those. The pictures and directions are very clear and easy to understand. It's a perfect book for a beginner or an expert.
