Essential Self: Your True Identity

( 5 )

Overview

No single discipline or faith has a patent on the whole truth concerning our place in the cosmos. The truth, though obscured, is there before our eyes. When we weigh this information, integrating the concepts of Eastern and Western thought, we see a much clearer picture of the universal arrangements that govern our lives. "Essential Self" is an attempt to bring your true identity into clear focus.

More About This Book

"Essential Self" works on two levels. It operates first as an original concept of self that shows the human persona in its dynamic form. When one accepts this reflection of one's true identity it will put an end to the need for superimpositions. It is no longer necessary to be creating exaggerated or self-aggrandizing impressions of one's self and laying these false templates over one's natural identity. Secondly, "Essential Self" deals with the conditions of everyday living and provides insight into how to turn it into a more coherent, fulfilling experience.
In the absence of philosophy we are left to define ourselves through fits of egomania. We keep designing ourselves and redesigning ourselves to fit neatly into this situation or into that circumstance. Yet these impressions we create never become a permanent fixture. In the moment, it all feels very real, even convincing. At day's end we are prone to lose our perspective. This constant adapting of our personalities to every situation of the day produces anxious, unsteady rhythms. We wish there were a constant self inside of us. One that is always present, or at least never far from where we are. Your true identity as described here has three aspects: the sensory nature, the industrious nature, and the assertive nature. Coming togrips with the reality of this persona is the gateway to a whole new perspective on everyday living.

    inspiring, enlightening, transcendent

The profound insight and beauty of this book were captivating from the first page. The text does not simply touch lightly on vague spiritual ideals, but explores concepts in depth, while providing clear, practical examples of how to infuse this wisdom into our everyday lives. Highly recommended.

Find out who you really are, and learn to enjoy it!!

In this modern world of self-absorbed phonies, it's refreshing to read a book by a guy who has observed the world from many and varied perspectives. There are both serious and amusing anecdotes in the book that are both entertaining and helpful in the realization of where we fit in the complex fabric of humanity.

    Essential Self: Your True Identity

I highly recommend this book. It is both enlightening and profound. There are many personal insights to be gained by reading. I would include it in the same genre with A New Earth by Eckart Tolle, and Seat of the Soul by Gary Zukav.
