Doody's Review ServiceReviewer: Scott H. Grindel, MD (Spectrum Health - Reed City Campus)
Description: This is a very well written book on primary care sports medicine with excellent pearls and very helpful case presentations throughout the chapters.
Purpose: The book has done an excellent job of covering the fundamentals of medicine as they relate to exercise and participation in sports. This is an important area that is strongly needed in this field.
Audience: In my judgment, this book meets the author's objective of presenting information for the practicing sports medicine physician.
Features: This book covers the gamut of primary care sports medicine. It presents some great pearls of practice and offers some interesting and informative case studies.
Assessment: This book does a great job of providing clinically relevant information for the practicing sports medicine physician without all the additional information seen in other books of its kind which seem to be intended more for training purposes than for clinical relevance.
