    more from this reviewer

NOTE: THIS REVIEW IS ACTUALLY FOR ESTEBAN'S 5-DVD SET

I have not read Esteban's book nor seen the two DVDs in this set (probably some of the same thing I'm reviewing,) but I can tell you from watching a little bit of a DVD from Esteban's 5-DVD series on guitar, that it will be a big waste of money if you bought it. First of all the man does not explain a lot of things clearly so half the time I had no clue what I was doing. Second of all some of the DVD also had bad camera angles so a lot of the time you couldn't really see what Esteban was doing on the guitar, and third of all some of the chord positions he taught were very difficult (this is actually supposed to be a beginners DVD set.) The only reason I put 5 stars for motivating was because it motivated me to go back to my other guitar method. Personally I feel if you need a good beginners DVD set look into Homespun Tapes. Their instructors do a much better job explaining things and also teach easy chord positions to begin with. I own a Homespun Guitar DVD myself that was on a more difficult level than Esteban's method and to tell you the truth, I found that I learned more things from that than I would have if I finished the first DVD and went on to the other ones in the set. So my advice is look into a better set than that and don't even buy the product that I'm supposed to be reviewing just look into something else.

    Guitar made very easy

I played bass guitar for 30 years. Played around with banjo and drums. Got a travel guitar by Martin and wanted to teach myself to play. This book and DVD is VERY VERY easy to understand and follow. Playing over 5 songs already and learning not only chords but methods as well.
    Highly recommend for the beginner.

Esteban's Complete Guitar Course for Beginners

This is a very good course if you bearly know what a guitar is. If you know anything about playing guitar at all then it's a total waste of your time and money. Following this course will get you no closer to playing like Esteban than you were before starting. He also writes in his own strange methodology that I've never seen in any other books or manuals on learning guitar, so it could actually cause you trouble if you plan to progress your abilities of playing guitar.

    Instruction

I got this set for my niece. She wanted to learn guitar and along with a guitar for Christmas, I got this instruction package. She loves it and was picking up on all of the steps easily within a couple days. She's 16 and I think this package would work for most ages.
