The Ethics

( 97 )

Overview

Ethics, a monumental work that presents an ethical vision unfolding out of a monistic metaphysics in which God and Nature are identified. God is no longer the transcendent creator of the universe who rules it via providence, but Nature itself, understood as an infinite, necessary, and fully deterministic system of which humans are a part. Humans find happiness only through a rational understanding of this system and their place within it.

Flint by Louis L'amour: Outstanding Western

Flint is a mind-bending and compelling Western epic or 'Frontier novel'. It is about a man who loses his identity to save himself and others. Flint is an allegory and the characters, places and events stand for themes and motifs. The novel instills hope because the title character overcomes cancer to save himself and his friends. He always thinks of other first and even his enemies respect him.
