Meet the Author

Longfellow was born in Portland, Maine, which was then a part of Massachusetts. He studied at Bowdoin College. After spending time in Europe he became a professor at Bowdoin and later, at Harvard College. Longfellow retired from teaching in 1854, to focus on his writing, living the remainder of his life in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in a former Revolutionary War headquarters of George Washington.

This copy is hard to read due to jumbled words and letters that don't make sense...

This is a work of historical drama and "romance," but this copy is full of little formatting errors that make it difficult to read.

To answer the question about changing the font.......Henry hasn't been writing a lot lately. Heaven help us !
