She wanted her life to change ... he wanted his to stay the same.

Seventeen-year-old Ashlyn Lanski is tired of her boring, single life. Swimming and spending time with Tatiana, her best friend, are her only sanctuary. The girls plan to leave their drab lakeside town far behind for college, and Ash hopes to finally ditch her longtime crush for Finley, Tatiana's twin brother. But when Tatiana and her family fail to return home after a family emergency, Ashlyn makes an irrational decision to deal with her loss of them.

Finley Helton and his family are good at blending in with humans as they run their sailing charter business in Lake Tahoe. The truth is they guard an ancient secret. When a not so routine meeting forces Finley, Tatiana and their mother to return to their underwater home of Natatoria, they learn Fin's father will lead a dangerous mission. They must stay in Natatoria and wait for his return, but Fin can't stay caged up for long.

Secrets lurk beneath the deep blue waters of Lake Tahoe, and a simple lifesaving kiss will change their lives forever.

    Good Read for Highschool Level

It was a bit to slow for me, but this was the first book I have read about mermaids in along time. I recommended to my sister and she absolutely adores it. I would recommend ths series espcially if like me you are in between series. The plot was well written and easy to understand.

I love this book. The ending is a little anticlimactic, but other than that it is wonderful!

    A Must Read!

Let me first start by saying Brenda is a local author so she writes about locations that I know very well in this case it's Lake Tahoe (not Natatoria lol) and that's why I fall so deeply in love with her stories! I also haven't read a mermaid story since The Little Mermaid so I was very excited to read this.

So Everblue takes place in two locations one on the surface and around Lake Tahoe and the other in a magical realm Natatoria both so different and vivid in their own ways. I could feel the chill off the lake and the snow still left around in the the spring setting of the book. I really could visualize the underground world as well.

Onto the characters Ash is the MC and I loved everything about her she is a swimmer (so was I) so I could completely relate to her issues with nerves on race day. She is an amazing and loyal friend when Tatchi her best friend and Finn Tatch's brother and the boy she loves go missing she stops at nothing to find them. Tatchi is an adorable character I love the fight she has in her she wants to live her own life not the one dictated by the Mer's in Natatoria. On to Finn oh sighs whats there to know about Finn? He's a sexy blonde haired blue eyed merman who can even pull off wearing a kilt look sexy. He's also completely in love with Ash you can feel his passion for her burn right of the page! There's also a sexy baseball player named Callahan who stole my heart I absolutely love baseball players if you don't believe me ask my last two boyfriends lol (both baseball players).

This story had me sucked in on page one and kept me up until 4a.m. reading I guarantee once you pick up this book you will not want to put it down!

    Highly Recommended!

I've read ALOT of books, and The first thing that ran through my mind about this book was the cover. Now I know about that saying 'Don't judge a book by its cover' But I really just could not help it on this one. The cover is Beautiful. It drew me in first thing. And the last E on the title is shaped like a merimaid tail, which is so creative!
This book is a must read!! I dont wanna give anything away, but i was drawn to this book, could not stop turning the pages! I read it in about a hour and a half! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BOOK! I'M SO HAPPY I BOUGHT IT! I love how Ashlyn thinks! It reminds me of me, haha! I love Fin, too! He is z perfect mermaid hottie. I hate Azor. He is simply.....ugh! There's no way to describe how unforgivable what he did, just saying. I feel so sorry for Tatchi. I can't wait to see what happens in z next book! :D

Exciting Bold and Quite the Twist...

Mermaids and Mermen where you just don't expect to find them...delightfully so! There's so much more to them than we ever imagined...and they are much closer to us as well...how intriguing is that?
However all is not as it seems in their realm...and will that affect us...find out what they REALLY think about us...this series is new and exciting ....and just what we need after all the vampires and werewolfes...kind of refreshing!

    I tried to like this...UGH!

I really gave this book a try. I kept telling myself one more chapter & maybe it will get better & make sense. After about 1/3 of the way into it I gave up!

The premise is interesting and if you can get around the stand fish-themed lines they use, instead of swearing, it MIGHT be OK but this is just too strange -- & I like strange paranormal romance!

Basically, it may be free but it's not worth it and I feel cheated, out of the time I wasted on this dog(fish) of a book. DO NOT BOTHER! There are plenty of other books out there. This is a waste of time & I don't understand the high ratings people gave this. I actually give it ZERO stars!

    Three stars

After reading this book i am compelled to rate it 3 stars. Although obviously written for teen fantasy group, i did actually enjoy reading this and i am OLD;) Author kept story moving at a good pace and managed to weave in bits of decent family values while keeping it "real", yet interesting with the sibling/family verbal exchanges. Not certain i will continue with series, but would recommend to other readers.
