Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"This is one excellent read; don't pass up getting a copy of this one."
Miami Herald
Jim Huffstodt, Everglades public information officer since 1986 for Florida's wildlife protection agency, beleives most readers - not just outdoors enthusiasts - would marvel at the daring escapades of game wardens. His new book, Everglades Lawmen - True Stories of Game Wardens in the Glades deleivers the goods - educating, entertaining and astonishing even seasoned hunters and anglers who frequent the South Florida wilderness.
Palm Beach Post
Jim Huffstodst's new book, Everglades Lawmen: True Stories of Game Wardens in the Glades, is a 239-page collection of the weird, scary and sometimes bloody encounters of game wardens present and past. The book helps us sense the dangers - and rewards - of being a wildlife officer in the Everglades, where outlaws can be as cantakerous as the mosquitoes.
Chicago Tribune
Although wardens generally patrol their backcountry byways in silent anonymity, that is changing. Two books grace the market revealing inside stories of stakeouts and investigations, as well as impromptu encounters with poachers, thieves, felonious trespassers and vandals of all types.

My favorite is Everglades Lawmen, James T. Huffstodt's assortment of anecdotes from one of America's more mysterious wildernesses. His tough cops and hard-bitten outlaws are in constant, mesmerizing conflicts amid a strange world of alligators, wild pigs, airboats, water moccasins and trophy bucks. You'll learn much about Glades life through Huffstodt's book.
