This one is mainly revolving around Tatiana or Tatchi. She was forced into a promise with Azor, the egotistical deceitful prince. There's a war brewing between Azor's Dradux and the rebels. Some rebels become spies and one in particular named Jacob becomes a bodyguard to Tatiana. We find out the truth on a lot of things. I really loved how this book came out! I thought this just flowed nicely and their was never a dull moment.

OMG!! This really is the best book yet from Brenda Pandos!! It was first scheduled to be released in February, but was delayed two weeks. That made the waiting even more suspenseful! I really wanted to know what happened to Tatchi, Fin, Ash, Glad and Jax. Boy, I wasn't dissapointed!! Last year I won a contest that Brenda Pandos was hosting, and my prize was to have a character with my name!! EKK!! I bought Everlost the day, well the day before, it came out, and finished it in under 8 hours. I devoured it. I was hooked from the frist two chapters and by the time I left work I had gotten to where my character was mentioned, I didn't want to stop! But truly, the places and the writing Brenda has, it really is like you're there, underwater, or in Tahoe or even in Florida. She describes these places with such detail, not to mention the fins on the mer people!! The only spoiler I'll mention, well it's not really a spoiler I think, is it's nice that the mermaids have the pretty, bright colors and the mermen don't!!

This book was the final in the "Mer Tales" series and by far the best, in my opinion. I loved the way the story throughout the series all came together and ended in a way that I am very happy with. From start to finish I was completely hooked and was unable to put this book down. I am so glad I took a chance on this series and definitely recommend it. :)

I enjoyed this series as a whole, but this book was definitely my least favorite of the three.  I think my major complaint was that there was so little of Ash and Fin in this one.  This book focused on Tati, whom I loved, but the first two focused so much more on Ash and Fin that it seemed abrupt to have them so much a lesser presence.  The change in voices and in how the story was told was also different, not bad, but different.  The first two were told in alternating first person POVs between Ash and Fin.  This installment was written as a third person narrative and felt older than the other two, far less YA than the others. Aside from that, Tati''s story was an engaging one.  Azor was as likable in this book as in the previous ones.  That is to say... not at all likable.  There were times when I want to reach into the book and just slap the stupid out of him.  There was a whole lot of mystery and intrigue in this book, a lot of action.  That part of story was pretty engaging.  I think I just really connected with Ash and Fin as characters and missed their strong presence. My only other complaint is a little one, that there were parts of it that came off as a little preachy.  This may be a personal taste thing, however, as I am not generally a fan of religious fiction.   Things to love about Everlost...    -The mystery.  I love suspense and twists and turns and there was a bunch of that. Things I wanted more of...    --Ash and Fin.  I really loved their story. My recommendation:  Still a good book and a must read for the end of this fun series.  I gave it 3.5 mugs.

This was a good ending to the series, although I wish Colin's whereabouts was specified in the end.(Maybe a spin-off series?!) I did not like all the references to having sex or wanting to have sex in this book. Some were even cruel- for example- one of the guys offered to physically hold the female down while the male sexually assaulted her. References to sexual body anatomy were also referred to, several times. All of this made parts of the story kind of crude. I understand the author was building the story line for the characters, but this book would have been so much more enjoyable without the sexual vulgarity. Some of it was okay between the promised ones, but most of it was just unnecessary. It was so different from the first two books in the series. I think if an author starts out a series for young adults, then the series should continue in the same way. This last one was just "more" than what young adults needed to read and visualize in their minds. (I am not a young adult and I still did not like the way it was done.) Most of the sexual parts in this book was not shown to be special between the promised ones but was shown to be degrading to the females, which left a bad taste in my mouth. Would I recommend this book to young adults? No, I wouldn't. Will I read it again? If I do, I will probably start reading at the last few chapters where all the characters from the first two books reunite in the story. Overall, I enjoyed the series. The first two books were 5 star books, but this one was a disappointment to me, only because of the stated above issues. The writing was great, just didn't need all the descriptive content.
