Overview

There's no doubting Diana Ross's platinum-packing power, but on this comeback' release she opts for a more up-to-date, low key approach. With the help of a handful of producers, most notably, Malik Pendleton, she has crafted a record that promises to lie next to today's languid soul, but ends up sounding more at home on adult contemporary radio with Celine Dion and co. In fact, the intro to "Until we Meet Again" is eerily reminiscent of Dion's "My Heart Will Go On," without the over-the-top theatrics that follow. There are splashes of tribal rhythms and motivational mantras ("He Lives in You") -- as well as a couple of Cher-like dance remixes tacked on at the end -- but it is when Ross sticks to what she does best, straight ahead soul ballads, that she shines as the original diva.

Diana Ross has made a comeback (maybe not on the charts, but most definatly evrywhere else). This millenium-ending release is something new for Ms. Ross. In her recent releases, she mainly focuses on the pop and dance field with a few hot R&B cuts in there, but on this album she's gone back to her roots with the nineties on her shoulders. This album features so many fantastic cuts (for example: Until We meet Again sounds like a definate R&B chart topper, and Not Over You Yet could still be a sure power hit). Motown, the lady's american record company has failed to support her properly. No singles have been released to the US yet, and how long ago was this album released? Trust me, if you like smooth, make-me-feel-sexy music, this is the selection for you. I love it. You should buy it.

Diana once again reigns as Diva Supreme on her newest release. The Lady has been through some tough times lately, so there are more sad songs than usual this time out. Though it doesn't quite reach the lofty heights of her previous collection, the remarkable TAKE ME HIGHER, EVERY DAY IS A NEW DAY has more than sufficient pleasures to satisfy any Diana fan.

Diana & Brandy out did themselves on the movie Double Plantium, which is where this soundtrack came from in 1999. I have the VHS Copy and I have been looking for the soundtrack for 2 years and thank God I finally found it. If you have not seen this movie you really should it's the BEST!!
