Overview

Today, Heather Jose is known nationwide as a cancer thriver. She’s a columnist for Breast Cancer Wellness magazine and the online host of www.CancerPortal.com, where readers and popular writers connect with fresh ideas. But in her 20s, with a young daughter still in her arms, Heather Jose heard those words that devastate millions of men and women every year: “It’s cancer.”
As an occupational therapist, a caregiving professional herself, Heather knew she faced long odds with her stage IV breast cancer. Even as doctors warned her about those dangers, Heather was vowing to face this challenge head on. She brought together friends and family as caregivers, her own inner resources for physical and spiritual health and the best in medical care. At the same time, she began writing a series of letters to her young daughter Sydney, nicknamed “Sydney Bs,” so that the little girl would remember Mom even if Heather didn’t make it through her battle. A hand-lettered sign, “We are killing cancer every day,” traveled with Heather, her family and medical personnel throughout her long journey that ended in success. Today, Heather’s story of becoming a cancer thriver has moved men and women nationwide.
Heather Jose travels widely teaching medical personnel, caregivers and patients themselves about taking charge of these challenges in new ways. In workshops and keynote addresses, she teaches how to improve working relationships and summon all available resources for survival.
This book tells the story that already has inspired countless cancer patients. The book includes Heather’s own story of devastation and survival, her letters to her young daughter, plus helpful insights contributed by her many caregivers. The book also includes a Foreword by best-selling nutrition expert David Grotto, author of 101 Foods That Could Save Your Life and 101 Optimal Life Foods. Plus, you will learn in this book about how to download your own free copy of Heather’s popular Healing Agreement, a 1-page pledge to work toward healing every day.
