    OUT OF SIGHT

I could not sleep at night for reading this book. I honestly could not put it down. Best short stories I've ever read and they would definitely make some good movies.

    THE BOMB

The stories were so good that I thought I was a part of them. The author had me right there -- I was teary-eyed, laughing hysterically and I could relate to almost all of the stories. The book made you realize that there is always someone worst off than you. The most pleasant part about the book was that every story ended with 'Every Ending Has A New Beginning' and all of the endings were happy ones. It was a good book to read. Couldn't put it down.

You'll Want to Share This Book With Friends

Friends often ask for a book I can recommend --- here's one I KNOW they won't be disappointed with. In many ways this is a SELF-HELP book, but the fun is that the 'help' isn't numbered, spoon-fed, and sanitized like with so many books in that genre. The lessons to be learned come from stories that end in surprising ways, from mistakes people just like you and I make, and from the help of a loving and powerful God that won't let us stray too far. Jean Johnson's book deserves to be on your bookshelf for only a little while....most of the time keep it circulated among your friends who need lifting up.

    Real Lifetime TV Stories

Every single story that I read was good and should be made into Lifetime TV stories. Excellent book to read --full of emotions. The stories were so irresistibly good that I could not put the book down.

Every Ending Has a New Beginning

This is an unusual book I read. What I found unique is that every chapter actually fits into the title of the book to a perfect 'T'. When I go to the movies, I usually look for the title of the movie to relate to what I am seeing somewhere. Like 'Spike Lee's' DO THE RIGHT THING!! 'I SAW WHAT YOU DID LAST NIGHT!' 'CLUELESS', 'MALCOLM X'. I must say this was even more on point than the book and movie 'HOW STELLA GOT HER GROOVE BACK'. With every single chapter one could connect it with the title of the book. Every Chapter! That is strange, unusual but so well planned. The title is totally true to itself. It was true to me. It will be true to you. It merits much self-reflection.

Every Ending Has a New Beginning

Hands Down!! You will want to read it twice!! The authoress has got one hot - best seller's book in print. From reading other reviews, I have to say if there is anyone who does not read this book and relate, (they could not possibly be an African-American). There is no way this book could merit only one star. Some critics are just plain haters. If there is a critic out there who can't relate, they know nothing about the African-American culture. In one word to sum up this outstanding and enjoyable book, its RAW!!! For mature audiences ONLY!! Any African-American Adult can identify here. Non-African Americans should be able to identify as well (cause they got some crazy - mad drama in their lives) - but if they can't - they're in denial. I'm not a person of many words and one doesn't have to be. The writer has composed the stories to get up underneath anyone's skin. There's no way to not feel or see what the writer felt or saw or envisioned unless you are not human or you are 'I-N-H-U-M-A-N-E'. This is our black culture at its best - at its worst 'in the buff' -- in the flesh -- not to say the entire black culture - but if you haven't experienced it, seen it for yourself, I bet you know someone close enough that has. I'm ready for the sequel. Write on Sista!! Give me some more!

Every Ending Has a New Beginning

A lot of honesty is expressed here and whether it is fiction or non-fiction, it took a lot of heart to write such a book and I have recommended it to my bookclub because we all know plenty of people like a lot of the characters in this book. I also liked the author's style of writing because it was like she was actually speaking to me and telling me a real story. I found it very easy to read. Unexpectingly, I would burst into laughter or cry on the train on my way to and from work. I felt a lot of emotions. The book kept me involved and with something to read for a while since it was so thick and contained nine stories. I felt I had read nine books because some of the stories were very lengthy for a short story. I feel I got my money's worth and when I was done, I wanted more.

Every Ending Has a New Beginning

The stories are unbelievable yet very believable. You just don't want to believe that these stories are true but it is obvious that they were inspired by actual experiences. Others, as well as myself have lived through very similar experiences. Personally, I know a lot of Philadelphia Tommy Outlaws. The author's style of writing truly absorbed me. It just really tells about the things that people can go through in life and in relationships and I found some of them rather amusing. Some of the stories were hysterically funny while others were devastatingly sad so I found myself crying and laughing throughout the book. However, I found myself laughing more than I crying. I also appreciated the large print which made it easier to read. The book is huge and is filled with very interesting stories. I really loved the book.

    Where was the New Beginning?

Every Ending Has A New Beginning. A title that unfortunately does not apply to this "book". Based upon the Title, and the authors writeup I thought this would be an exciting, inspirational, uplifting collection of stories that would show the struggle to become an empowered woman. The reverse was true. The characters are not believable, the storylines are all over the place and do not connect. The spattering of words splashed across the pages are not easy to follow. Each chapter was to reflect a different story, but it was difficult to realize an "Ending" had occured, and that you were about to read a "New Beginning". At the end of reading this "book" my only feeling was a headache and that a collection of words, binded together and published do not a writer make. Sorry.....
