Every Little Piece [NOOK Book]

Overview

Needing the truth…

I wanted to spend the night before graduation making out with Seth, but one of my best friends had the whole night planned. Lucky for me, we ran into him and his friends playing pool where we made some silly bet over a game, and the losers had to run through town in nothing but their underwear. A year later, I wish more than ever we’d just made out at Raker’s Bluff instead, because maybe the night would’ve turned out differently. Now Seth’s back, the guy who ...

Now Seth’s back, the guy who broke my heart, the guy I’m still in love with…I just hope he doesn’t break me all over again.

Desperate for redemption…

No one wants to fess up to having a screwed-up family. When my parents dropped the big divorce bomb on me, I decided to keep it a secret. Just the thought of the pity-stares and pats-on-the-back made me feel sick. I’d tell Haley and my friends another time. Except, I never got the chance. Stuff happened. Stuff that totally sucked and changed our lives forever. Instead of telling my truth, I took the coward’s way out, and I’ve regretted it ever since. But I’m back, determined to tell Haley everything, down to the last gritty detail, if she’ll give me the chance…even if it means losing her forever.

    Tear jerker

Keep the tissues handy. The beggining of the story is entertaining. The last half I found lacking. Kind of seemed rushed.

    Very good story

This is a touching story about Seth and Haley and how they deal with loss and survivor guilt. It is about graduation parties, drinking and driving. The results of the love and lives put on hold because of it.
This story should be a must read for all high school seniors. Although, they would probably think this could not happen to them or their friends.
Do have a box of tissues handy when reading the book.
Would like to give the book 10 stars.

Oh Goodness Definitely not Ready for that. But still Awesomeness.

You know those books that you just cannot put down??! Well, this is one of them, although its also quite an emotional rollercoaster so BE PREPARED.

Every Little Piece is a story filled to the brim with love, trials, and life. And of course second chances.

The characters were real; their reactions within the plot lines were what you could expect from some one dealing with that in real life. That is something I am extremely nit picky about in my books. Its got to be REAL. The supporting characters were not completely flat, they had emotions and did more than say a few words to the MC, they helped moved the plot along like they are supposed to.

I loved the strength and trust Seth and Haley had in each other. I loved the ending, I thought it a very fitting wayto wrap up sucha beautiful, heart breaking, butterglyingly awesome story.

    5 star read!!!

    YA 130 pages

This YA book is 130 pages long. It is very well edited. There is no sex, or cursing. There is underage drinking. There is death and some perental indescretions. This book is a tear jerker. It teaches many lessons, the main one is to be honest with yourself and others. My only complaint about this book is a minor one. The author has the hero tell his side of the events and then switches to the heroine to tell about the events from her perspective. Their names are not used and it was sometimes confusing as to which character was expressing him/herself. Sometimes each would have a page, a paragraph or chapter or just a few lines, so I did not know when a switch would occur. This book is suitable for readers ages 15 and up.

    Slow start, OK story

Overall, I liked the story but I was not really interested in the first half. Even half way through, at the emotional climax scene, I was not feeling it. I did not get a very good sense of who some of the characters were; I did not even cry or feel any strong emotion really at their death scenes. I did enjoy the last part of the book and I think the author did a good job of describing the main character overcoming her grief and letting go of her guilt. Ok overall.

    Haley or Seth??

I would give this book 4 1/2 instead of just 4 if I had the option. The only reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because it was always confusing who was talking, Seth or Haley. At the beginning of every chapter it would have their names in 'teeny weenie' print and it was so small it was easy to miss and that would make it confusing as to who was speaking and I would have to go back and reread a few pages for it to make sense. Not sure if it's just this way in only the Nook version or what but it would be such an easy fix for the Author and would make it such an easier read if they would just make the text larger at the beginning of each chapter with their names. This was a great story and kept me guessing until the end what actually happened. I hope this is not the same way in her other books. It was quite distracting but still worth the time to read.

    Wonderful

I enjoyed this story. It has likeable characters, plausible action, a satisfying plot twist, and plenty of engaging details. Very few distracting typos. I enjoyed how the story switched between two narrators, shifting the perspective between the two main characters. Their emotions were palpable and not overdone. I found myself wanting these two to reconcile their pain, yet thinking it was impossible. I was genuinely surprised by how the author resolved the dramatic tension. The author does a great job describing grief and guilt, and allowing her characters to both give and receive forgiveness.

Such a great book! Read it in about a day. Could not put it down

Such a great book! Read it in about a day. Could not put it down. It made me laugh and cry. The rollercoaster of emotion was spellbinding. I loved every bit of it. The characters are well written and their struggles and turmoils of what they went thru is heartbreaking. Im sure we have all felt what that have felt at least once throughout this book. I recommend it, however if you cry easily I would be sure to have your box of tissues handy. Great work by Kate. Looking forward to reading the next two books by her.

WOW!! I wish I could give this book 10 stars!! I won a copy of "Every Little Piece" from a giveaway and I was so excited to read it! I was hooked on this book from the first page! Kate Ashton has such a way with words! I felt as if I was her characters! I felt all of the love, laughs, heartache and tears as if they were my own! The ups and major downs in this book had me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book! I wanted to jump in the book at times and just hold on to Haley and Seth and help them through their hard times! You could feel the love between the characters and the pain that they went through at times. There was a couple of times in the book that I cried and others that I wanted to yell at the characters. This is a beautiful story about love, loss and life. Haley is a strong young woman who has to learn some life lessons the very hard way, but she becomes stronger because of that. Seth is a fun, compassionate guy who makes a couple of bad decisions in life and has to find a way to set them right! The plot of Kate's book will have you hooked and leave you wanting more from her characters! Thank you Kate, for such an amazing book! I look forward to reading more of your work in the future!

(Source: I won a digital copy of this book. Thanks to author Kate Ashton.)
18-year-old Haley and her best friends are living it up the night before graduation, when the unthinkable happens, and their lives are changed drastically and irreversibly. Haley and her boyfriend Seth blame themselves, and both retreat into their own little worlds.
When Seth comes back into Haley’s life one year later with a secret to tell her, neither of them are really ready to face what happened that night, until eventually they’re forced to.
What really happened that night? Who was responsible? And will the truth drive an even bigger wedge between Haley and Seth?

This was a brilliant story about love, and grief, and forgiveness, that pummelled my heart, made me cry, and totally left me wanting more.

I loved the characters in this book. Haley was so broken after what happened, and it was so sad that Seth wasn’t there to comfort her when he should have been. I really felt for both of them and the guilt they carried though, and as much as I wanted them to pull through what had happened to them, I really didn’t see how they ever would.

The storyline in this book was emotional and heart-breaking, and even made me cry! I loved how such a relatively simple storyline could hold so much emotion, and feeling, and how one secret could change things so completely. The suspense was gut-wrenching, and I couldn’t help but keep reading, even knowing that what was coming would hurt.
The ending of this story was so fitting, and even made a happy ending out of a terrible situation.
I only give 5 stars to books that I get to the end of and want to start reading again from the beginning, and that’s exactly how I felt here.
Overall; a beautiful and heart-breaking YA contemporary romance. Highly recommended.
    9.25 out of 10.
