When Julie West arrives at the prestigious Cartledge Inn in response to an urgent call from Stefan Lauber, a near-hysterical desk clerk tells her that Lauber has been murdered in his room—room 623—and, according to the clerk, everybody keeps asking for that room.

Julie West did not know what or who she was up against, but then again do we ever truly know? Room 623 was popular with a slew of mysterious characters and that's not even mentioning the intriguing ones outside the room.
This fast paced, fun to read novel had a few adventurous twists and turns without leaving the hotel. I enjoy solving a good mystery and even though I guessed correctly, Cecil Murphey baffled me several times and I loved it.
If you're looking for an entertaining mystery then you'll want this book. Afterall everybody wants room 623!
