While it seems a little dry, this book had proved immensely useful as a writer and lover of Regency Period books. It is straight forward, comprehensive, and well structured. While this book is not nearly as detailed as a text book, the variety of details to Recency and Victorian life makes you feel as if you had a text book directly on hand. An excellent source.
A lot of information about 19th Century English life packed into concise paragraphs. This book is useful for those who read histories or fiction from the 19th century. From recipes to servants' wages, readers will find information that will help them see life in Regency and Victorian times. Not the best written of books, but informative.
