Read an Excerpt

From Chapter One

Cole opened the eye that still worked and struggled to figure out how he had ended up on the floor. Pain radiated from his face and shoulder. All he'd wanted was a roll of Mentos to get him through his next flight. What he'd gotten, though, was a fist to the face. His shoulder throbbed from smashing into a display of Washington Redskins souvenirs, and his face pulsated with pain. That big dude had one hell of a left hook!

He tried to open his other eye-which was swelling shut after being on the receiving end of Big Dude's meaty fist-and blinked into focus a striking young woman hovering over him. She had long dark hair, porcelain skin, and big brown eyes. Over her shoulder, he took in the crowd of whispering, pointing people that had formed around him. No doubt they recognized him, which meant the press would show up any minute. He also saw two airport police officers arguing with a large man in handcuffs, presumably Big Dude.

Cole hadn't seen it coming. One minute he'd been standing in line minding his own business behind a guy having a heated discussion on a cell phone. Then he'd watched Big Dude throw a wad of money at the clerk. Cole had tapped him on the shoulder to tell him he was being rude to the girl behind the counter.

"She's only doing her job," Cole had said.

The next thing he knew, he was looking up at an angel.

"Are you all right?" she asked, hands coasting lightly over his face.

Cole was appalled by his predictably male response to her touch. Before his little problem became noticeable and before the media could show up and turn his life into a circus-again-he quickly tried to sit up. Too quickly, he discovered when he was hit by a wave of nausea that caught him off guard and snuffed out the situation in his lap.

He lay back on the sweatshirt someone had rolled into a pillow for him, closed his eyes, and took a deep breath to ward off the nausea. "How long was I out?" he asked the woman.

"About two minutes or so. It felt like longer, though."

"Shit," he groaned, imagining how the press would blow the incident out of proportion. "I need to get word to my airline that I can't fly today, and I gotta get out of here."

"The airport police called someone from your company. They're on their way, along with the paramedics."

"I don't need paramedics," he protested, making a second attempt to sit up.

Her hands on his shoulders stopped him. "Stay still. You might have a concussion."

A veteran of high school hockey, Cole had no doubt about the concussion. Great. That's just great. After months on the ground doing "the hero circuit" on behalf of the airline, he didn't need a concussion to knock him out of the air for two weeks just when the whole uproar had finally started to die down.

"What's your name?" he asked, his eyes still closed as he did battle with pain and nausea.

"My name?"

"It's not a trick question."

She laughed softly. "Olivia." Sticking up for a woman named Olivia had gotten him knocked out and knocked down to earth for at least two weeks. Damn it!

"Thank you for what you did," she said.

"No problem."

"Yes, I think it was."

Cole raised his good shoulder in a half shrug. "He was being a jerk."

"Here," a male voice said from above him. "Put this on your eye."

Cole cracked open his working eye to find the store manager holding out an icepack. He reached for it. "Thanks."

The paramedics arrived a minute later, along with a representative from the airline, an older woman Cole had never seen before. She announced she would be accompanying him to the hospital.

"That's not necessary," he said.

"Boss's orders," she replied, full of her own importance.

"I'm to stay with you until you're released and handle any media requests."

"Great."

As the paramedics prepared to roll him away, Cole looked around for Olivia and found her in a group of airport employees and customers who were watching the proceedings. Their eyes met, and she stepped forward. He found it refreshing, to say the least, that she didn't seem to recognize him.

"I hope you'll be okay," she said.

"I'll be fine. I've got a hard head."

"I'm sorry this happened."

"It's certainly not your fault."

She tucked a roll of Mentos into his hand. "Take care of yourself."

Amused by the gesture, he said, "Don't put up with any crap from your customers."

Her dazzling smile once again caught the attention of his lower anatomy. "I'll try not to."

"See ya."

    Great Read

He's done what seems to be the impossible-land a plane in a blizzard. But can he convince the woman he's interested in that he's more than a one-trick-pilot?

Ms. Force has penned a story that gripped me from the beginning. I wanted to know what would happen to these characters and how the storyline would play out. The writing is tight and the descriptions rich. She captures the essence of pilots and the hustle and bustle of the airport well.

Cole is a typical pilot (even before the save). He's cocky and walks with a swagger expected in flyboys. It works for him because it gets him women. Now add in the hero-status and the guy has it all. I liked seeing his softer side and being able to get into his head quickly to see how he felt about Olivia. Smitten men are sexy. And the little issue he has with Nutty Natasha truly added to the story. I wanted to see how the crazy ex-girlfriend sub-story worked itself out. I must say, I loved it.

My one issue with the book was Olivia. She's actually a great heroine. She knows what she wants out of life, albeit with a few hiccups. I liked that she didn't move through life in a perfect manner because it gave her character. What got under my skin was her tendency to see the glass half empty. I didn't mind her being a little worried about being with Cole-it showed she was human and gave me, the reader, something to relate to. Handsome guys with oodles of girls hanging around them can be hard to handle. Still, there were times when the jealousy and the insecurity inhibited her growth as a person. Blind trust is hard to manage and I liked seeing her struggle and overcome.

I liked this story because the characters are realistic. I felt what they were feeling and saw things through their eyes. The love scenes sizzle and left me breathless for more.

If you want a book that's guaranteed to leave you with a smile on your face, then you need to read Everyone Loves a Hero. I give it 4 books.

    Loved this book!

I loved this book. This is the second book by Marie Force that I have read. After reading Love at First Flight I knew that I had to read more. I love the characters and the emotions they go through. I read the whole book in one sitting because I just could not put it down.

Marie Force delivers with a romance that is both sweet and hot in Everyone Loves a Hero!

4.5 Cole Langston is a former Air Force pilot working as a First Officer for a commercial airline, based out of Chicago. He likes to live the high life with traveling, womanizing, and driving fast cars. When the pilot he is flying with has a heart attack and Cole is forced to take the passenger-filled plane down in a snowstorm, and then administers CPR, saving the pilot's life he is named a hero.
Fame is cool at first but Cole soon tires of all the media attention, though he still takes advantage of the female interest. Needless to say, he is quite the player. With good looks, charm and now 'Hero' status he sees plenty of action but is always upfront with the ladies, stating ahead of time he isn't looking for anything serious. That is until he gets knocked out standing up for a stranger and wakes up staring into the beautiful face of Olivia Robison. From that first jolt he is lost. Now he has to convince the insecure Olivia that she is it for him and despite all their odds, they can make this work.

I absolutely loved Cole and Olivia right away; the way they fought for their relationship to despite the numerous obstacles was absolutely endearing and I was unable to put this book down because of it. Cole is just amazing in every way, not perfect by any means, but definitely a man you can easily fall in love with. He knows Olivia is the one for him right away and has no qualms about making it work but he has his work cut out for him convincing Olivia and getting rid of a few ex girlfriends while she isn't looking. These two provide the perfect balance for each other, Olivia inspiring Cole to be a better man and Cole giving Olivia the push and confidence that she needs. Olivia is very insecure, she has led a sheltered life and is somewhat intimidated by Cole's experience, but she is especially insecure when it comes to her abilities to keep him interested in her. And her feelings are very relatable. I know if a sexy, charming man was all of the sudden into me and professing his love I'd be a little wary too, especially with numerous women constantly throwing themselves at him right in front of her, ex-girlfriends showing up wherever they go and a crazy disgruntled ex causing trouble. Cole is patient and constantly reassures her with his words, actions and is just incredibly sweet. I found myself smiling continually while reading this novel. Cole also supports Olivia in her art, pushing her to attend art school and show other's her work, giving her the courage she lacked. When these two get together the sex scenes are sizzling and numerous. The writing flowed smoothly and kept me turning the pages, Cole & Olivia's story was complex and very entertaining. Their character growth was also fascinating and dynamic. Good suspense with their relationship and a few twists to keep you guessing. The ending was wonderful and heart warming, it put a big smile on my face and I closed this book with a happy sigh.

The only reason this novel didn't receive a 5 was because I thought that the 'I love you' came a too quickly and too often, and though I loved all the sex scenes there was one or two too many and it seemed like filler for the plot.

I think that Everyone Loves a Hero would be a great read to lift your spirits if you're feeling down, but is an exceptional read either way and I will be recommending it to my friends. And Cole was just, wow. I'm not usually one for contemporary romances but this one grabbed me hook, line & sinke

    A delightful sexy read.

Marie Force captures the world of instant celebrities and their struggles to just be normal in her latest romantic story..Everyone Loves A Hero.

First Officer Cole Langston was thrust into the worlds spotlight when he saved his captain and the passengers on his flight. At first the praise was heartwarming and special but now he just wants to get back to just being Cole---a pilot. Sure it had its perks; woman falling all over him but when he meets Olivia Robison it becomes intrusive.

Olivia Robison is struggling to get what she wants out of life. Family circumstances had made getting her college degree a longer journey then she would have liked. She has a hard time trusting anyone especially a famous pilot that literally falls at her feet at first meeting. Cole's reputation as a player has her over thinking why he would want to be with someone like her. Olivia is touched by Cole's interest in not just her but her art that she has never had any praise for before. He opens up a whole new world to her that she is afraid that just one wrong word or action will make it all disappear.

Olivia and Cole start a long distance relationship will all its ups and downs. But when a woman from his past makes strong claims on Cole's heart will Olivia flee or fight for their love?

Everyone Loves A Hero is a compelling love story filled with emotion and real life trials to overcome. Olivia and Cole both have complex lives that make their finding and keeping each other the hardest work either has done. Watching them peel back layers of their personalities is heartwarming and endearing. Marie Force writes such soul searching stories that will stay with you long after you have finished each story. I am so lucky to have found an author whose stories have such an impact.

    I Also Recommend:

Everyone Should Love this Hero because this Romance is Perfection!

Olivia is a woman who hasn't had an easy life and has had to work very hard for every thing that she has while sacrificing her personal life in order to help care for her mother with whom she has a strained relationship. You see, Olivia is so busy treading water and putting the needs of others before her own, that she has lost site of who she is. She is so used to surviving and feeling unworthy of the love of her parents that she suppresses her dreams and true desires.

That is until she meets the man of her dreams in one very delectable and more than swoon worthy Cole Langston. Except that Cole is the one that swooned at Olivia's feet after being punched by an irate customer in a checkout line at the airport in which Olivia works. It's pretty much love at first site for these two, and they meet whenever they can despite living in different cities and having demanding schedules to work around.

Cole immediately knows that Olivia is someone special for him and begins making changes in his previous playboy life because Olivia is the "one". He know it very early on in their relationship. He comes on strong and is relentless in his pursuit. He's a man who knows what he wants, and what he wants is Olivia, so he goes after it.

Olivia on the other hand has a hard time believing and understanding that Cole would reform and become a one woman man instead a one woman in every city man. She's not used to the attention and is most definitely not used to being first in anyone's life. She's insecure in not only who she is as a sexual woman (Cole is her first), but as a person and she is constantly questioning if what she is feeling for Cole is too good to be true. And therein lies their problem as a couple. I think Olivia's views of herself, her history of denying and suppressing her needs and wants so as not to be a burden, as well as her self-worth lie at the core of her reluctance to believe in him and her own heart.

Cole is everyone's dream romance hero. He's handsome, sexy, great in bed...and did I mention that he is a hero (as in saved someone's life), and he goes to great lengths to make Olivia's dreams come true by encouraging her to follow her passion to become an artist. With his love and support Olivia becomes the person she's always wanted to be, but never had the courage to pursue or feel worthy of. I think that is what really resonated with me so strongly because I truly believe that the love of the right person will help you become the best version of yourself that you can be. Someone who will support your dreams and love you despite your faults. Cole is that man for Olivia. Yes they have their problems and misunderstandings most of which stem from Olivia's insecurities (and one seriously mental ex-girlfriend), but she grows as a heroine and learns to trust in their love which ultimately leads to their happy ending.

I can't recommend Everyone Loves a Hero highly enough. It pushed all of the right romance buttons for me. A to die for hero. A heroine who grows into someone that not only the hero can love, but that she can love too. Romance. Passion (lots and lots of passion). And Love. I hope that you read Everyone Loves a Hero and love it as much as I did because for me it was perfection! LOVE LOVE LOVE...yeah I kinda really loved this story :)

    Ratings:

    Overall: 5 stars!
Sensuality level: 3.75 (about as hot as you can get without being an erotic romance IMO)

    Fun Cozy Romance

Cole and Olivia meet by accident when he stops to buy some Mentos at an airport kiosk. Olivia was working the register and the guy she was waiting on was being rude. Cole stepped up to ask him to be a little nicer and received a punch in the face for his efforts. When he opens his eyes he finds Olivia hovering over him trying to find out if he is okay.

They don't find out much about each other that day, all they know is that they each received a jolt (unbeknownst to each other) when she touched his face. He is a pilot, so she sends a note to the airline to find out how he is. Meanwhile, he stops back by the kiosk to try to see her - only she was just filling in there for the day, it was her normal stand. But, as Fate would see fit, he does end up finding her and he asks her out on a date. They hit it off really well, but there are a few things standing in their way.

He is a pilot based out of Chicago. He shot to fame a year earlier when his copilot had a hard attack and he landed a plane in a blizzard and then gave the guy CPR until paramedics arrived. Since then he has been on the cover of many magazines and has women throwing themselves at him. She is a 27 year old business student, still living at home and trying to work her way through school - in a major that she hates. She is really an artist at heart but doesn't have the self-confidence to pursue it. She also has an agoraphobic mother who shops excessively online and TV.

They begin this relationship and both admit fairly quickly that it is different from anything that either has experienced before. Olivia has a lot of doubts about Cole's feelings though, especially the way they seem to run into old girlfriends where ever they go. Cole, sensing that Olivia is a little skittish, isn't entirely truthful with her about all the women in his life and so doesn't tell her about an old girlfriend that he calls "Nutty" Natasha. Well, good intentions puts a definite crick in this relationship.

I did enjoy this book and really wish that I had a pilot with me when I flew to let me know what all the noises and bumps were about! Olivia had never flown before, so when Cole took her on a trip he told her everything that was going on. (I don't care for flying - so this would be great!) Cole and Olivia were fun to get to know and I liked the way that Cole encouraged Olivia to follow her dreams and to give her the space and time to do just that. Warning - book does contain a lot of sex scenes.

This is by far my lease favorite book by Marie Force. I found Olivia's character to be bland. I found the relationship to by juvenile. I really hated the "pinky swear" dialogue (this is something your 7 year old daughter would say). She has written far better books so this was very disappointing.
