Takes the work out of learning Russian

Tried with other methods/books but for some reason this book really helped me figure out the rudiments of the Russian langauge. I can more or less converse with my neighbor who is from Saint Petersburg. Great fun! I've booked a trip to Moscow in March and can't wait to go!

    more from this reviewer

    Great.

I'm on chapter 3. Unlike the fact that you learn russian culture and history as you go along. I haven't listen to the CD yet, but the alphabet was well described in the book. There are little quizzes at the end of the chapters (answer key in the back of the book). The only part you really need to worry about is staying motivated.
