This book is a large sandwich of fascinating magickal theory and hands-on practice. It's a fun read in itself, but is packed with useful rituals and meditations. Once the primer Qabalah is out of the way in Chapter 2, Chapter 3 is the centerpiece Equilibrating Ritual of the Pentagram which you will use for pretty much the rest of the book. With those prerequisites out of the way, things really take off in Chapter 4, with hands on talisman making. By Chapter 8 I was enthralled by the author’s bizarre relationship with his wife and demon! Intense. Fun book to read even if you don't practice, but very nearly a bible for practicing occultists. Covers not just magick but also some Wicca, shamanism, and chaos magick as well.

This is a solid introduction to occult Magick for beginners and a great all-purpose manual for intermediate and expert users of magick. I liked the easy-to-follow instructions and detailed answers to a myriad of questions, that I wasn't afraid to ask, per se, but certainly was curious about.
