Eve's Daughters

The headline adequately describes the content of the book. I didn't know how to classify the title of the book, at first but later realized what it stood for. The headline caught my interest as soon as I was introduced to the book.

Eve's Daughters by Lynn Austin is one of the best books that I have ever read! I don't have much time to read books and often times I fall asleep while trying to read, howevever this book definitely peaked my interest in starting to read all over again. Although, at first, it took me some time to get accustom to the writing style I finally caught on to who was telling what story in the events that occurred.

I have never read a book that caused so many emotions in me and all from one book. I got angry, I laughed, I cried, and I felt things that I couldn't believe I could feel just from reading a book. I also felt compassion and lack of compassion at times. I imagined what was, what could have been and the sense of romance or lack thereof but whatever the emotion and feeling I was left with the lingering thoughts of what occurred in each persons life and I began to reflect on my own life and my response to my own experiences and situations. I've read until the wee hours of the morning, despite the fact that I had to go to work the next day. I even woke up in the middle of the night at times, not feeling very sleepy only to find myself picking up this book, yet once again.

This book was suggested through a book club started at my church and I have already recommended this book to several of my friends and to my sister who also read, enjoyed and felt a lot of the same emotions I did when reading Eve's Daughters. I strongly recommend this book to everyone! This book keeps one's interest, entices one to continue reading and keeps the suspense going until the very end. There is also a spiritual aspect that again caused me to reflect on life.

A Great Read

A heart-warming, intergenerational tale of remembrance. Readers will love this story about four generations of women by a noted, talented author.

A great book about life....

The people were so real you felt you knew them and loved them. A wonderful novel about our Mothers and Grandmothers and ourselves. Lynn Austin is great story teller.

One of my favorites!

This was the first Lynn Austin book I read. I have since read many others of hers and very much enjoyed them all, but Eve's Daughters is still my favorite.

EXTREMELY EXCELLENT!!!

For me Lynn is a super master story teller! Her characters are SO real and you feel like you know them from the start -- authors who can do THAT are the best. ALL of her books are great but the generational novels are my favorite. After you read this -- be sure to read "All She Ever Wanted". OK Lynn -- write faster!!

An ablsolute pleasure to read!

I read this book some time ago upon the recommendation of my daughter (who is an avid christian fiction reader). I had asked her to recommend a good book but not the cheesy, predictable type stories often found in christian fiction. She recommended this one as one of her most favorite books and she was right on the mark. The book has been shared with other family and friends (some reading it multiple times) because it simply touches your soul. Lynn's writing captures and conveys the setting and emotion of the story in such a personal way that one really does experience the book. One of my favorite things about her writing is her wit and humor woven throughout the story. You will smile often, laugh, and cry. It is truly an book to experience.

SUPER GREAT !!

I agree with all the other reviewers -- Lynn is an excellent writer. Christian fiction used to be very watered down AND sappy romantic stuff -- real NOVEL readers want something with substance. This is my first Austin book -- now I will look for all the others!

This is by far my favorite book! I have read it 4 times about once a year and loved it every time. Lynn Austin is such a gifted writer! Between my mother and myself we have given or suggested this book to about 15 women and all of them have loved it and given it to thier friends and mothers. I just can not say enough about this great book. YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK. No matter what your age, religion, lifestyle you will love this book.

Eve's Daughters... It touched my heart.

After reading Eve's Daughters- which I couldn't put down unit the final page was turned- I got my hands on every novel of hers¿ that I could. I must say that I am not Christian, and I found this book by accident, but I could not believe how I got into this book. I say, get your hands on this book if you can, it is one read that you will never forget or regret reading.

AMAZING!!!!!!

This has been the single most greatest christian book i've ever read in my life! I've read a lot of the sugary sweet stuff thats popular with christian authors, but this book is nothing like that. It shows the way life really is, and the amazing things God can do to change our lives. It's the first time i ever heard of an affair in a christain book too ;) lol You HAVE TO READ IT!!!!

Best novel I have ever read

This is a moving story that you will never forget. I have never read a novel like it. The truly unique characters become a part of you and you won't be the same!!

Not candy-coated fiction

I have never read anything before written by Lynn Austin, but this book was wonderful. From the moment I began the prologue, I knew I would like this book. All four women chronicled in the chapters face similar things that every woman encounters, but the love and grace of God is always present. Austin does not candy-coat life either, like so many Christian writers of today. Her characters live realistic lives with ups and downs, laughter and tragedy, just like we all do. I was pleased to see that. I loved these characters, and I did not want the book to end. I look forward to reading more novels by Lynn Austin.

An amazing story that brought forth many feelings. I truly enjoyed it and it has now become my favorite book. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys heart touching love stories and/or stories about peoples choices and their consequences.

Lynn Austin writes with an insight in women's emotions, and understanding.Our own lives become reflected by her story, to help us mend our souls and our daily lives. Truly an inspiration to all that read it.

A Must Read!!!!

I truly enjoyed this book. It was easy to read, and the characters took on a life of their own for me. There are a lot of values in this book which are lacking in today's society. A good wake up call. I am recommending this to everyone I know!!!! Thanks!!!
