This book grabbed me from the beginning and I couldn't put it down. I loved Britt and Joel! I loved the action and the suspense and of course the romance!!” ~ Angie, Amazon reviewer

EXCERPT:

He radioed into headquarters to report his location for the night as he swung into the saddle. One of the rangers who’d been assisting with his investigation answered the call.
“Find anything interesting up there?” Randy Gifford asked.
“Just a camper in a restricted area.”
“You think it could be the guy you’re looking for?”
“It’s a woman. Camping where she shouldn’t be. I’m going to make sure she leaves in the morning, then return to my original route.”
“You may want to reconsider. That storm front I mentioned earlier is moving a lot faster than expected. It’s over the Never Summer Mountain Range and will reach your area tonight. Temperature’s dropping, too, so be prepared.”
Joel surveyed the heavy, gray clouds he’d noticed earlier. “What are they forecasting?”
“If it keeps moving, a couple inches. If it stalls, up to a foot.”
He muttered a curse. That would be a problem. “If that happens, we could be up here for a few days, so yeah, scrap the original route. The closest trailhead is Longs Peak, can you get someone to drop off my truck and trailer over there in the morning?”
   “Will do.”
Five minutes later, he rode back into Brittany Lucas’s camp as she threw a couple pieces of wood on the campfire that’d been nothing but banked coals when he left. She brushed off her hands before bracing them on her hips.
   “Now what?”
He dismounted to unpack his gear. “I’ll be camping here with you tonight.”
“Ranger Morgan, let me assure you, I have every intention of leaving in the morning.”
“And until then, I’ll make sure you stay safe.”
“I don’t need you to babysit me,” she insisted, irritation flooding her voice as she sat by the fire.
Ignoring the fact she’d heard him earlier, he met her stare over the top of Nobel’s saddle. “You got a gun?”
   Her gaze faltered. “No.”
“Well, the poacher does, so I’m staying.” That shut her up, until he tossed his sleeping bag inside her tent.

Evidence of Trust by Stacey Joy Netzel
    Colorado Trust Series Book 1
Brittany Lucas chose to spend one last summer working for Mark Jennings on his Colorado ranch. Her father wasn't happy with her choice, then again she never could please the man. And she needed to get away from Daniel, the man who left her behind when he got his promotion. Instead, she gets to deal with the conceited, arrogant, incredibly handsome jerk of a ranger.

Ranger Joel Morgan is looking for the poacher who is mutilating animals inside the park. What he doesn't expect to find is the woman who brings his past back to him and not in a good way. The spoiled little rich girl with all her high tech camping equipment and fancy horse. Has his past messed up his vision of the present? Is Britt really anything like his mind wants to make her to be?

Pride is getting in the way for any romance between Britt and Joel. Along with past hurts. They need to focus on the here and now and catch the poacher. A dangerous person who may be after more than animal trophies to sell. This book definitely held my attention from start to finish. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

    Great storyline

I loved this book! It was very different than your average western tale. She works on a resort ranch. Hes a special investigator looking into poachings nearby.
Both have relationship issues. They work together to find the poacher, who is not who you think he is.

I figured it out before they did, but very cool to see how they come to the conclusion.

I’ve always been a horse lover so what could be better than a story about a horse wrangler and a park ranger.

When a poacher starts killing animals in the park, Ranger Joel Morgan is brought in to track him down. His first brush with trouble isn’t the poacher, it’s sassy horse wrangler, Brittany Lucas.

Brittany is camping in the park, enjoying some alone time when she awakens to a strange man snooping around her camp. Recalling the warnings of a poacher, her guard goes up. When the dust settles, she ends up sharing her tent with Ranger Joel. He won’t leave her alone in the park, and with heavy snows coming, they have to wait til morning to head out.

The sparks from the camp fire are nothing compared to the ones that occur between Brittany and Joel. The attraction is strong but both have assumed things about the each that have them battling wits.

I enjoy character driven novels and the author has many in this book. Brittany is kind and gentle, but also independent and strong-willed.

Joel is hard-headed, determined, and not easy to brush off.

The other characters lend support to the main ones, filling out friendships and giving us some suspects.

Right away I had two characters pegged as possible bad guys. The poacher wasn’t just into making money. His lust for blood was becoming a need and I didn’t think animals would satisfy him for long.

As the attraction between Joel and Britt built, so did the suspense and danger from the poacher. Brittany is now his target and while most of the time, the author doesn’t kill off a main character, you just never know.

It’s always fun to read how the characters meet, how their assumptions screw things up, and they fight the growing attraction. I grinned a lot, laughed too, and shook my head as Britt and Joel made a mess of things.

I especially enjoyed reading about Britt and Gypsy. The ranch owner purchased Gypsy because no one else wanted her. She was out of control and dangerous. When he asked Britt to try to gentle the wild mare, she rose to the challenge and that’s where she really showed her stuff as did the author. You could feel the excitement, but you had to be patient, just like Britt. Whatever turned Gypsy into a raging inferno didn’t happen overnight.

Beautiful scenery of Colorado, a blistering romance, and danger came together in a really good mystery/romance that kept me turning the pages, enjoying the ride. I received this book for my honest review.

I received this book from the author to read and post an honest review. Every book I have read by Stacy, I've enjoyed, and Evidence of Trust is no different. I liked the setting taking place in the mountains of Colorado and the main characters, Brittany and Joel, were perfect for one another. They both had problems and issues to resolve within themselves, and I was so happy that even with danger stalking them, they were able to see past their problems. The story held my interest from the beginning to the end. This was a captivating book, not only because of Brittany, Joel and their friends and co-workers, but because of the beautiful descriptions of the Rockies and surrounding areas. If you have never read this author, and you like mystery, suspense and romance, then read Stacey Joy Netzel. Definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.
