Overview

On a peaceful August morning in 1985, grim-face FBI agents led a dawn raid on an eighty-acre farm outside Rulo, Nebraska, said to be occupied by a gorup of religious survivalists led by the charismatic Mike Ryan. What they found on the farm shocked even experience investigators. For months Ryan's Nebraska neighbors spoke in whispers of gunfire in the night, the disappearance of women and children, neo-Nazis and white supremacists. But little did the locals know what was happening to those Mike Ryan decided to punish for their “sins.” In Evil Harvest, Rod Colvin re-creates a chilling story of torture, hate, and perversion, and how good, ordinary people could be pulled into a destructive, religious cult—a cult that committed unthinkable acts in the name of God.

    I lived it....

I thought Rod did a good job showing the control my dad had over people. He displayed his true evil nature very well. I do believe there were quite a few inaccuracies in the story, but that is too be expected with so many differnt sides and all. I was grateful for his work, cause reading the book did help me alot, emotionally and mentally. I would recommend anyone reading this cause it shows how easy it is for normal people, normal families, to get caught up in a madman's nightmare.

A Story That Will Keep You Awake All Night!

The newspaper accounts of this story only scratched the surface of this chilling true story of cult murders in Rulo, Nebraska in 1985. Mr. Colvin has written an excellent account of the crimes committed by the chrismatic Mike Ryan and his followers. It is written in such a rich, and intense style, that I could not literally put it down. I had to finish it!
