The "Zack Files" series, of which this is one, is very popular. It is irreverent, full of current expressions, humor and imagination; and the level of language is such that reluctant readers as well as early chapter-book fans find these stories compelling. In this example, Zack and his friends, complete with their eccentric and slightly magical teacher, go on a picnic. They experience the usual encounter with insects, but this time they encounter anthills that inexplicably resemble pyramids. Zack ends up shrinking and observing the pyramids and their despotic culture first-hand. There are no moral lessons, since Zack's friends continue to annihilate cockroaches, and the chocolate-covered ants are not banned from social consumption; but the bullying of the overbearing Queen Tut is duly squashed and a more democratic style of government installed.     OVERALL AWESOME!

    THIS BOOK IS OVERALL AWESOME WITH A HINT OF GREAT!!!!! THANK YOU DAN GREENBURG!!! THIS SERIES IS REALLY AWESOME!!!! IN FACT IM 8 AND I SHOULD BE READING BOOKS THAT ARE AGES 9-12 BUT I GAVE IN AND STARTED READING YOUR BOOKS! ( ALTHOGHT THIS STUFF IS IMPOSSIBLE! I STILL LOVE CUZ I BELEIVE IN THE IMAGINARY!) GO ZACK! <3 <3 <3! OH YEA! UH HUH! OH YEAH ! UH!
