My Review:
When this book began, I could not see how Cari was going to be successful and make this into a romance story that I could get behind. Why do I ever doubt?!? I should know better by now.
Jenny broke up with Trevor 27 days ago after a 6 year relationship with him. Lately he's been caught up in work projects and other things and the mystique around their relationship has gone stale. Jenny tried spicing things up by changing her look and trying to get more adventurous in the bedroom, but that has had the opposite effect in their relationship. Finally, she simply broke it off not knowing what else to do, but she misses him and how things used to be.
Jenny is the webmistress for Hunk du Jour and part of her job is to screen all the applicants. She is shocked to see an application from Trevor. Trevor is reeling from the breakup with Jenny (he'd had plans to propose) and as a typical guy figures that a hook-up will help him recover.
You can see where this story line is going, right? Jenny & Trevor really do love each other, but finding their way back to each other is not easy. It made a great, emotional story. (You all know I love those, right?) This book is sexy & heartbreaking and you just want to lock these two in a room and force them to talk. It's infuriating at times, hopeful at others. Poor Trevor has been blindsided, but he's not without fault in the original failure of the relationship. This book is a GREAT reminder about the importance of communication to the success rate of ANY relationship.
Simply a fun, entertaining read!!
