Exactly
Meet Leigh Lewis: a bright 20-year old that thinks she has everything figured out, and is very perturbed when things don’t go the way she feels would be best. Destined for law and politics, she chooses several unorthodox jobs during her sophomore year in college. The first as an advice columnist for the school paper (She does know best, after all. Why wouldn’t everyone listen to her?).
It may be necessary to preface her motives for doing so. She has recently become an ex, and finds instead of coping with her own break up, it’d be much more interesting to tell other people what to do with theirs. Her advice, although possibly a bit pessimistic (“He’ll probably just tell you what you want to hear, so save yourself the trouble and break it off with him”), forces her to reevaluate the way she sees her life. The second, an internship at a publishing company, proves more than just an internship. Enter an arrogant, know-it-all Brit, who knows just how to push our heroine's buttons yet at the same time leave her wanting more (although she’d never admit to it). It isn’t the typical ending, because it’s not the typical story.
"Exactly" offers a look at family, friends, relationships, and the parameters that define them. As Leigh matures, so does the story, moving from dark to fun to perhaps drunken at times; always, however, it carries a story that many will gain from (and if not, just laugh at).
