I knew nothing about VBA and needed to learn in a hurry. Walkenbach's book explains everything well enough to get a good start so I was able to get productive quickly, rewriting existing macros at work. This is great to get up the learning curve, for the absolute beginner, although it may stop short for advanced macro users. Based on this, I went on to buy Walkenbach's Excel Bible 2010, to see what else I can learn.

This book explains VBA in a simple format beginning with the simplest concepts. John Walkenbach is an excellent teacher, and as with most "For Dummies" books, this book really breaks it all down for the layman. I already had an older paperback version of this book. I purchased this to make sure I was studying the most current features for Excel 2011. So far, I have not found an example that does not work on Excel 2011, although he only covers the Windows version, which is why I docked a star.
