Book 2 in the JUST BREATHE Trilogy

WARNING: This book contains graphic language, sex, and violence. NOT SUITABLE FOR READERS UNDER THE AGE OF 18.

Her dreams brought them together, but reality could tear them apart...

The man of Zoe Morgan's dreams isn't only real, he's interested. In her. But her boss wants her too, and is leveraging his unsolicited advances with the threat of blocking the huge promotion she's after. When he places a spy on her research team, the intense stranger discovers more than he should, and Zoe fears hiding a relationship with Gavin Cassidy from her boss is the least of her worries. The whale she must protect has been marked for death, and Zoe's old enemy Scarlet is eager to deliver the killing blow. To both of them.

Australia's Sentinels must find and lock the door into the Dreaming before Fyre Elementals launch another attack on innocent dreamers. But corruption and distrust abound, and Gavin believes someone on the Sentinel council is in league with the Fyres. As he reluctantly embraces his new role as council leader, Gavin must not only keep Zoe safe from Scarlet's vengeful clutches, but organize a Sentinel defense strong enough to prevent a full-blown Elemental war--with a traitor fighting by his side.

*The author donates all profits from sales of the JUST BREATHE trilogy to programs that educate people about whales and the challenges they face.

Meet the Author

Kendall Grey, word wrangler, whale warrior, wicked wench, and lover of tongue-tripping alliteration, was born without an off-switch between her brain and mouth. She's been called the "Flux Capacitor of Twitter" and "A little package of love all wrapped up in F-word paper," but she's really just a maniacal writer relaying eyewitness accounts of the rave inside her head. She writes urban fantasy with strong romantic elements and also dabbles in erotica and horror on occasion. Kendall lives off a dirt road near Atlanta, Georgia, but don't hold that against her.

BOOK TWO IS JUST AS AMAZING AS BOOK ONE!!!

I absolutely love this series. The writing style is absolutely beautiful, the characters are fully developed, and the story line just completely sucks you in.

This series is not for young readers as it is absolutely HOT HOT HOT!!! But fear not romance lovers, this is not an exclusively sexual book. Plenty of romance and suspense also! I cannot wait to get into the next book, so this review must be cut short.

Hope all who give this a chance enjoy it as much as I.

Review: First of all, can you believe that cover? How gorgeous is that?? I can't even get over it, it looks like something from a graphic novel. So amazingly fantastic.

Alright, onto the review! Exhale is a rare gem in the world of trilogy writing. For once there's a middle book that doesn't suffer from stagnation and info-dump overload. Instead, the action keeps building at a steady pace, new characters are introduced, some mysteries are solver, some expanded upon and new ones uncovered. The bad guys get badder and the good guys win and then break our hearts. A tremendously satisfying read in and of itself with a powerful momentum, making it impossible to wait even a moment before starting the next book.

I'm forcing myself to write this before I do, but believe me, I'd much rather be curled up with the giant dog reading!

In Exhale, the Dreaming continues to be under attack by the Fyres but their power base is weakened. The leader of the Fyre attack, Scarlet, is no longer only driven by her lust for power, she has her eyes set on Gavin, the now leader of the Sentinels (sworn protectors of the Dreaming). But Gavin has fallen head over heals for his Wyldling charge Zoe. Better than a love triangle, the tension and drama of Scarlet's desire for Gavin and hatred of Zoe drives her to do things only an author of Kendall's calibre could imagine.

Plot driven and action packed, Exhale delivers on every point. It's beautifully written, perfect in timing, structure, editing and tone. There's never a moment when the characters drift out of character. I'm at the edge of my seat to learn more about the prophesy and Zoe's role as translator. Kendall manages to mingle science with fantasy in a way that pulls it all together in a tight, taunt plot.

Now that we have solid character representatives from all the Elements (Earthe, Air, Wæter and Fyre), a solid understanding of the Sentinal political world, Zoe's role as a "translator" and the deepening mystery of who/what Sinnder is, I am chomping at the bit to dive into Book 3 - Just Breate.

If you haven't read Inhale yet, go buy it, you'll love it, and you'll love Exhale even more.

This is such a gorgeous series. From the covers to the very last

This is such a gorgeous series. From the covers to the very last sentence, this series has me captivated. After the first book, Inhale, I was worried how Zoe and Gavin would make it in the real world. Their relationship certainly faces many trials.

I have to say that Zoe got on my nerves at the beginning of the book. I love her, so that's what it was so irritating to me. So, I called on my pal Andrea to reassure me that Zoe finds her way. I really hate doing that, but my stomach was in knots. Gavin is just so attentive to her and really tries hard to win her over, so I hurt for him. Her resistance was understandable. Truly, I get it. I would certainly be hesitant to get involved with a rock star. Not to mention her issue with their age difference or the fact that he's a Sentinel. In a perfect fantasy world though, I would literally jump Gavin and never let go.

Slutty Scarlet is back on the prowl, creating chaos once again. I have seriously never hated a character more than I hate her. I really didn't think it was possible to like her less, but she does it. I can't wait to see her demise.

We get to see a little more of Sinnder in this book. I love him. I mean, he's not really a good guy, but I think there is going to be a big story there. Sinnder is dark, gritty, and incredibly sexy. He's definitely more than meets the eye. I have Stifle, which is a feature of Sinnder and I've heard incredible things about it. I can't wait to read it.

More questions are answers and mysteries revealed in this installment of the Just Breathe Trilogy. The ending left me in tears. I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning to finish it. It's the type of story that you can't put down. You HAVE to know what is going to happen next. Kendall Grey has such a creative mind and clearly draws a picture with her words.

If you are looking for a steamy read that is not only imaginitive, but tells a wonderful story of life, love, friendship, salvation, and balance, this is a great book for you. Even if you aren't a fan of Urban Fantasy, you should test this one out. It's truly a fantastic story and I can't wait for the final book, Just Breathe, to release! HURRY UP KENDALL!
