whoa what an ending!

Pagan is starting her senior year of school off to a bad start. Not only does the ¿soul¿ she sees outside of school the first day follow her into her classroom, but he has the nerve to be gorgeous and actually talk to her. No souls have ever talked to her. Ever since she was little she has seen them, wondering aimlessly through life. But none have ever talked to her. Then to top off the talking soul, Leif, jock and class A jerk, asks Pagan for tutoring. Yeah, that¿s the last thing she wants to do, is have to help this arrogant jock her last year.

But once Pagan and Leif start their study sessions, she realizes she was wrong about him, that he is actually a good guy. Then something else weird happens, her talkative-soul-friend, well he actually starts attended school and now everyone can see him. Is Pagan going mental? And if not, why is she falling for this mysterious soul?

Where oh where do I start? Lastnight (New Year¿s Eve) I decided to bring in the New Year reading Miss Glines¿ newest book. To me that is the best celebration I could do. (You don¿t get out much with a hubby that has to work the next day and 3 young kids). I wasn¿t planning on reviewing Existence cause I have like 12 other reviews lined up. But once I finished the last word of the story I knew I had to say something.

Loved Pagan, she is a smart chick with a good head on her shoulders. I like seeing girls in stories that are smart, but not overly. You want them to be believable and relatable, and Pagan is. Now the guys in the story are both hot and gorgeous and absolutely swoon worthy. I had a hard time choosing between Dank and Leif. Yeah how adorable are those names? But as the story went on, I felt myself gravitating more towards Dank. Even with him trying to push her away, you can¿t help but want him.

The storyline was definitely different than any I have read and I truly look forward to the next book in the series, Predestined. And after that cliffhanger of all cliffhangers, you will too. *Runs back to read the last paragraph one more time* Yep, it¿s a biggie! Existence was the perfect book to ring in the New Year and a must read for all readers!

Because it's so easy to get free or nearly free books online the

Because it's so easy to get free or nearly free books online these days, I admit that I've become a bit of a cheapskate. It's sad when $5 feels like a lot to pay for a book. However, the ratings for this book are so amazing I thought I'd splurge. It was worth EVERY penny! I read it in a day and bought the sequel, which I plan to begin as soon as I finish this review.

I REALLY enjoyed this book. It reminds me a lot of books like Angelfire, The Dark Divine, and Angel Burn. Very good! Spend the five dollars and enjoy the ride. :)

Can not wait for the sequel....

This book was a great read. It was different from one's I have read in the past. I could feel the heart ache from Pagen and the love from Dank as I read the book.

Dank being Death was a great twist and I really want to find out what Lief the other man in her life is if not human.....

I am so waiting for the next novel in this series. Please hurry Abbi Glines......

Wow!!!

I was drawn into this book from the very start and I couldn't put it down. The story flowed very well and I enjoyed getting to know all of the main characters. I love how everything worked out in the end and I absolutely could not believe the cliffhanger on the very last page. Man, I can not wait till Predestined comes out!!! This was a tremendously awesome read! :)

Beautiful Forbidden Love Story!!!

Existence is a winner. Abbi Glines has proven she can also write YA Paranormal Romance as awesomely as her YA Contemporary. I was a little worried if Glines could write a paranormal as fantastic as her contemporary but, man oh man, no more worries, she blew me away with Existence. The storyline is totally amazing and all the characters are well developed and pulled me right into this supernatural world quickly. Pagan and Dank are fantastic together. Abbi Glines has a gift for the romance, and with Pagan and Dank, she delivers a deep, heart-felt love that had my heart aching for them and their forbidden love. I also went head-over-heels for Leif. I always seem to fall for the wrong guy. I would love to say more on Leif, but it would just spoil the book, so I'll have to wait for the next book in the Existence series to release, then I will let all my feelings out about him.

Pagan Moore is seventeen and has never been interested in guys, especially not Leif, who is the quarterback for their school, Habor High. But when Pagan has to tutor this gorgeous jock, she finds out she¿s been all wrong about Leif . . . Or has she? Pagan and Leif¿s relationship opens the door for Dank to come into Pagan¿s life.

Pagan has seen wandering souls ever since she was born. She always just ignored them and they would go away, but when a blue eyed, dark haired, beyond gorgeous guy¿s soul talks to her, it gets her attention. Because soul don't talk. Dank is different, and Pagan falls hard for him. The only problem? This love could be the kind till death-do-us-part.

Existence is awesome, and Abbi Glines has left me hanging on the edge with one heck of a cant-wait-to-find-out cliffhanger. I'm definitely ready to get my hands on the next book in this series. I highly recommend Existence as a must read.

Absolutely Amazing!!

Yowza!! That was dang good!! I have been hypnotized by this gorgeous cover ever since I saw it & I am thrilled to find that the inside of this book was just as amazing as the outside! Those intense blue eyes will haunt you as you read & just like Pagan, you won't be able to get enough of him. He's the epitome of bad boys (you don't get any more dark & dangerous than Death himself!) so it's easy to see why Pagan is so taken with him. And Pagan is such a loving, caring girl, it's no wonder that even Death is fascinated by her. She will do whatever it takes to protect those she cares about. Pagan has to struggle so much with understanding what's going on & it almost made me crazy to see them both try to figure out how to deal with the impossible situation they were in. (I may have screamed at the book in frustration a few times.) There wasn't one second of this book that was boring, I loved every bit of it! Now comes the really hard part... waiting for more!!

This book was definitly one of the best books i have ever read in my whole life! And that is saying something coming from me cuz i read religiously. I love dank/death and his possessivness when it came to pagen. BEST BOOK EVER!!!!!

A truly remarkable dark love story

Everybody is different, what makes them different makes them special. But to Pagan, what makes her diferent is a curse: she can see the spirits of the dead. As long as she ignores them, they leave her alone. That is, all but 1 leave her alone. In this paranormal love story, a high school girl falls in love, but with the one man who isnt supposed to love. Their love puts her soul and his existence in jeopardy. How can they save their love for eachother? Read this to find out.

Wow

This book was far different from what I was expdcting.
Yes, there was a love triangle, but not something overly done. Thos book is currently on of a kind, regards to Death being a love interest. Already looking forward to the next book coming out.

PERFECTION

AWESOME!!! After reading ''The Vincent boys'' and ''Breathe'', I didn't think, that it was possible to create something that would be even more perfect, but Abbi proved me wrong!!! Unique idea of the plot, gorgeous male protagonist, interesting characters and unexpected twists of the plot are only some of the merits of this book. I loved the chemistry between main characters, I liked Miranda and Gee, to put it briefly I enjoyed everything about this book! The cover is fantastic and I CRAVE the next installment!!!!!!!!A must-read!!!(less)

Love it! This is a must YA read

My Summary:

Pagan Moore is your normal teenager attending high school, working hard to get good grades, and trying to ignore the wondering souls she sees walking around.  Wait, that's not normal! As long as Pagan can remember she has seen the souls.  They don't talk but sometimes they follow her.  She's learned that ignoring them usually prevents any issues.  Everyone would think she has lost it if she talks to people that aren't there.  Then he shows up, sitting casually against the picnic table and only visible to Pagan.  She tries to ignore him but he doesn't go away, in fact he talks to her.  That's never happened before.  Oh and this boy is sizzling hot, very hard to ignore.  Fascinated by this boy, she can't seem to stay away from him. But that could be a problem since he's there to take her when she dies. Oh yes, that hot boy is death.

My Thoughts:

5 stars - a must read

Can I just say that Abbi has a way with romance that I love.  I wasn't sure how that would work with a paranormal twist but it was fabulous.  The passion builds between Pagan and the mystery boy as he stays just close enough to watch her.  But the mystery of who he is and what he's doing there grows and twists down unexpected paths.  While there is another pretty nice guy interested in Pagan, it's clear who she wants but can't have.  He seems occupied with another as well.  But it's not a love triangle or square.  It's building passion and mystery rolled into a fast pasted adventure that ends with an unexpected bang.  The ending had me happy and clawing for the next book. 

The world was totally believable.  It's a normal high school with Pagan seeing ghosts or spirits that don't talk to her.  She's learned to live with that and to ignore them.  I really like this type of paranormal where most everything is normal except some little thing that could and does blend right in.

As for the characters, I love Pagan.  She's trying to make good grades and choices.  Her conscious gets her involved tutoring Leif.  He's the all too perfect football quarterback that's had a thing for Pagan for a while.  I admit that at first I thought, oh no love triangle but it's not that at all.  Pagan cares for Leif but really as a friend.  What she feels for Dank on the other hand is burning raw passion that effects both of them with such intensity that Dank is forced to keep his distance to protect her.  It is that forbidden love problem and I do mean forbidden.

The only problem I could find with this book is that it wasn't long enough.  Could have added a few more scenes in there and I would have loved it more.  But really it was just what I needed to read.  I've had a few disappointing reads lately and this one was a breath of fresh air.

If you love YA like I do, then this is must read!

Death will make you melt!

First, a huge thank you to Abbi for the chance to read Existence. I've had the privilege to read advance copies of all three of Abbi's books this year, and they have all been fantastic.When I started reading Existence, I will admit that I had some expectations based on my experiences with Abbi's other books. Some were met, others were exceeded.

Pagan is just your average, ghost-seeing teenager. The ghosts walk in and out of her life and as long as she doesn't let on that they're there, it's not a problem. Then she meets Dank, who unnerves Pagan from the very beginning. Even more unsettling is the fact that he can talk to her, which makes it much harder to ignore him. And this soul seems just as fascinated with her as she is with him. As her interest in Dank grows, so does her interest in Leif, the star football player at her high school. Unfortunately, it's Pagan's appointed time to die. Dank isn't about to let this happen, however. He breaks all the rules and saves her from a deadly car crash. This upsets the balance in the spiritual world and other souls are too happy with Dank's decision. To protect Pagan, Dank takes on human form as a new student at her school, which makes it a little difficult for Pagan to concentrate on her budding relationship with Leif.

Perhaps my favorite thing about this book was that it kept me on my toes. It seriously defied any expectations that I had. Just when I thought I had figured out what the next twist or move was going to be in the book, something completely different happened. I was very pleased with the different twists in the storyline and, seriously, the last line of this book is one of the best I've ever read. It's a perfect cliffhanger.

In my opinion, Abbi Glines is the master of writing swoon-worthy guys! I was completely torn between Dank and Leif. Leif is the hot jock that every girl wants to date. At first he seems to have an ego bigger than the state of Texas, but turns out to have a soft side and big heart. Dank is the rockstar bad boy who is dangerously seductive. He's torn between wanting Pagan to lead a happy life and wanting her to be only with him. Pagan is just as torn as I was for awhile. Dank provides passion and desire, while Leif is stable and safe. All of the characteristics draw Pagan in for different reasons. But which will she choose?

I'm very excited to see what Abbi has in store for us in the sequel to Existence. I was very happy to learn there would be more, because I think there's a lot more to Pagan than we learned about in this book. Especially with relation to her ability to see ghosts. I think this is going to be a great series!
