Exit 9 is the sequel to Sick and if you missed these books, you have missed a treat! Brett Battles is to viruses what Tom Clancy is to military thrillers. Sick starts this amazing journey with a man trying to protect his kids from a group of people out to destroy the planet with a virus and continues in Exit 9 with Daniel Ash now set upon a course to protect the entire planet. Brilliant book.

I had discovered the book Sick from the "just for you" picks amdwas a little hesitant at first... All I can say now is I'm glad i took the leap of faith! I just finished Exit 9 and I can not wait for the third book. Brett Battles has a way of upper cutting you into the story and not letting you catch your breath. Being new to this author and these two books the only ones I have read by him. I can whole heartedly say I'll be looking over his other peices of work.

A great follow-up to Sick. While it didn't have the same intensity as Sick it was still a great sequel that was very exciting. The intensity from Sick came primarily from the raw story of a father fighting for his family and now the story changes to really going after the Project. The story picks up with the Project counting down to Implementation Day---the day the virus will be released while the resistance team along with Ash are trying to figure out not only how to stop ID but how to minimize the the damage. Fair warning...the book ends with a fairly big cliffhanger so you'll be wanting the next book in the series soon.

Daniel Ash returns in EXIT 9, the sequel to SICK. As many have previously said, you don't really need to read SICK, but you should not only because it's a great book, but it gives you some background information about Ash & Project Eden. But I digress... Will the end of mankind, with the exception of a few who believe they are the elite, become reality in EXIT 9? Will Daniel Ash & his team be able to stop Project Eden from releasing the Sage Flu before ID, Implementation Day? These questions and more will be answered in EXIT 9. I have been waiting for EXIT 9 to come out since I finished SICK (which I read in a day). EXIT 9 is no different. I read it in a day as well. This series is about a group of elite few who run what is called Project Eden. Their goal is to wipe out all of humanity (with the exception of their group) with a virus they developed called the Sage Flu. They are not fanatics or zealots by any means, but well organized, rational people. This conspiracy is intriguing and credible. Fighting against Project Eden is a group calling themselves the resistance, which includes Daniel Ash who first appears in SICK. In the beginning of EXIT 9, Ash is living in the suburbs with his children under a new identity, hoping the resistance doesn't call upon him to help. Which would mean only one thing - Project Eden is ready to release the Sage flu worldwide. That hope ends one day when two men show up on Ash's doorstep, sent by Matt Hamilton, head of the resistance. The entire book is a thrill ride, counting down to Implementation Day, ending in a VERY surprising climax. EXIT 9 is definitely a page turner. Brett has developed his characters well and the progression of the story gains momentum with each chapter. I won't lie about being an enormous fan of Brett's, which makes me somewhat biased. But even with that bias, I loved EXIT 9! I have yet to be disappointed by any of his books! And you won't be disappointed either! I cannot wait for #3 in this series! I'm dying to find out what happens!!

Exit 9, the second book in the Project Eden series once again kept me captivated and on the edge of my seat. Brett Battles has a way of grabbing a reader and never letting go. I cannot wait for the rest of the series! Until then, I will be reading the rest of Battles books.

As I was browsing through a bookstore recently, I picked up a novel that looked to hold some potential. Upon reading the back cover, I read a review that said, "A perfect novel to waste time while at an airport!" And, although I WAS at an airport, the novel never left the bookstore shelf. I was appalled that a book would promote itself as being a "perfect time waster' as though the art of reading and writing novels has utterly gone down the commode. That's not the case with the works of Mr. Brett Battles. His novels have the talent of holding his reading audience highly captivated to his characters and and plots. As an avid reader who has read great novels from the likes of Hemmingway to the unfortunate purchase of a few "perfect time wasters" in my day, I find Battles to be a fiction novelist of the higher caliber, able to grab your attention from page one and hold onto it throughout his novels and to the very last word. I eagerly await further reads from Mr. Brett Battles.

I have been looking forward to the continuation of this story since 30 seconds after I finished Sick. This is a great story conceptually and followed through with great writing! Battles penchant for action and speed makes it seem as though the book reads itself. Building on the characters from Sick, we get more character development and deeper insights into their thinking without sacrificing the never ending action. Looking forward to the next in the Project Eden series - in the next book I hope Battles goes into some of the twisted thinking of the Project Eden members. I would love to understand their rational better. Looking forward to the next in the series! Great work from Brett Battles!

The theme of this book is “Second Verse Same as the First”. If you read the first book in the series “Sick” then you know what to expect from “Exit 9”. Project Eden is trying to end the world and the Resistance is trying to stop it. Unfortunately this book just continues the overall narrative with a few cliff hangers so again nothing is resolved (which is a pet peeve of mine). On the other hand it has a lot more action than the first book making it into more of a thriller and it’s exceptionally well written with interesting characters. I’ll probably put this series down for a bit but the second book has really gotten me into the story much more than the first!

Battles is a great writer, love all of his work. But why do I feel cheated after reading Sick and Exit 9? Because the writer doesn't give us a reasonable stopping place and you must buy the next book to finish the story. Heck, it's almost like you need the next book the finish the last sentence. Most series books give the reader some closure, these books do not. Very Frustrating.
