We spurred the horses through the sandy edges of an isolated beach, sea spray flying high to refresh me before climbing up a steep embankment. We came upon a secluded area enclosed by dense trees. Grass, thick with fallen leaves, provided a comfortable setting and the pungent aroma of earthiness, combined with the saltiness of the sea, had my senses reeling. The rawness of the environment definitely heightened my desire.
After spreading the blanket out onto the lush grass I lay down upon it and watched Jeff's broad back with an insatiable hunger as his muscles flexed while unpacking the food.
‘Looks like you’ve packed too much,’ I said, chewing on a blade of grass.
‘You never know how hungry you can get when you’re out riding,’ he answered. ‘Could get thrown from the horse, or it could gallop off and leave you stranded and alone. At least you’d have plenty of food to eat.’
‘I’d just find the nearest neighbour, get them to take me back home,’ I said smugly.
‘But around here there aren’t any neighbours. No one for miles around. You can scream until you’re hoarse.’ He chuckled over the pun on “horse”. ‘No one would ever hear you.’
‘You mean we’re all alone out here, totally isolated from the rest of the world?’ I asked.
‘Yep,’ he said. ‘Just you and me.’
‘Well, at least I’ve got you to protect and feed me,’ I pouted, as sexily as possible.
He eyed me, probably sussing out whether or not I was coming on to him and I was, believe me. I wanted him, wanted to feel his weight on me, wanted to straddle him like I’d done to the horse, feel him inside me. It took all my willpower not to make the first move.
