A few weeks ago, I finished the book Exquisite Agony, by Gene Edwards. The subtitle of the book says it all: Healing for Christians who have been hurt by other Christians. This book felt like Edwards others (Tale Of Three Kings; Prisoner In The Third Cell).
At the end of the book, Edwards describes how Jesus destroyed death.
The Lord's greatest enemy, His life enemy, His only enemy, was Death. When one has defeated his greatest enemy, there is no other enemy. A lesser enemy than your greatest enemy can never inflict on you a pain greater than that which your greatest opponent can inflict. The defeat of your greatest enemy places the remaining enemies in a far weaker position.
When you have been hit by the worst possible circumstances and you rise in victory from out of the ashes, those former circumstances have lost their cutting edge. Their former power is broken.
Nothing can stop Jesus Christ because He has ascended over Death. All other enemies have less to throw against Him than did Death. There is no other enemy who is as as great as Death. Jesus was slain by Death, then slew Death and rose again. Death cannot ever again touch Him. Death is less than what Christ is.
What does this mean to you? This triumphant Lord, and His triumphant life form lives in you!
Words like this a powerful reminders especially when you are going through unexpected and intense times of relational pain. I highly recommend this book.

As a believer transitions to maturity, service to GOD using our spiritual gifts, hopefully in love, as it is written, puts the truth of our faith to a most serious test when challenged by a fellow believer or believers. Though saved by JESUS, each of us remains not yet perfected.
In our brokeness, we can and we will inflict real hurt on another believer with our tongue or our pen. When it happens to you, quickly seek true perspective, so eloquently described in this timeless work. It reminds you our GOD has a perfect plan for everything that happens to HIS children.
