Reading ¿Extreme Pursuit ¿ Winning the race for the heart of your son¿ encouraged me to go beyond the distance to reach and stay connected with my own sons. John Davis shares his passion for teenage boys ¿ connecting with them, so they can reach their full potential. John Davis has his finger on the pulse of what goes on in a teens world today from the halls of their school, to drugs, sex, alcohol and other triggers that cause many teens to disconnect with their family. At the end of each chapter, John reminds us that ¿the chase is on¿¿ yet doesn¿t leave the reader hanging. He has a ¿Go for it!¿ section that gives the reader practical tools how to accomplish what was laid out in the chapter. The appendix clearly laid out how we can detect signs and symptoms of drug and alcohol abuse, giving a description of the many kinds/types of drugs available today. I found ¿Extreme Pursuit¿ to be a MUST READ for all parents who strive to have a great relationship with their sons as well as those who have lost the relationship to get back the connection with their son.

Great read. A good reference book even if you don't have a youth with problems. Every parent should take an afternoon and read this. Thank goodness for men like John Davis who have the patience and love to lead these young men to a brighter future. G. J. FranzWas this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. This is a must-read for every parent of a teenage son! Our children are growing up in a very different world than we did, one that is filled with pressures at a very young age. John's book gives every parent great insight into this world and provides important tools for parents to use in guiding their sons to adulthood. It is interesting to read, filled with good examples, and not too technical. I couldn't put it down! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. John Davis has written a book that teaches us about the world that our children, particularly our boys, live in. Quite accurate and not for the faint of heart! He gets to the core of how to relate to our kids and gives us tools with which to do so. A wonderful guide to connecting with our youth! Mr. Davis' lessons are helpful for all of us not just those raising children today, but anyone who comes across an opportunity to connect with any youth. Thank you for your straight talk! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
