Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Naomi Butler
When a super-sized truck carrying the stars of Hollywood's Amazing Extreme Stunt Dogs shows up in Pembrook, Kito thinks there is something really weird about the owner. Can the Dog Watch gang figure out whether the dogs are truly amazing—or a truckload of danger—before it is too late? This book, the fifth in the "Dog Watch" series featuring Kito and his friends, has a great cover that leaves you wondering what is inside. The other titles in the series are Trouble in Pembrook, Dog-Napped, Danger at Snow Hill, and To Catch a Burglar. Each book is easy on the eyes, with large print and brief enough that reader's will not lose interest. In fact, every page in this one was full of excitement and anticipation. Each dog had a distinctive personality, which added to the suspenseful events. The book should be a good choice for a strong second grade reader. It could serve as a high-interest/low-vocabulary book for older students. Reviewer: Naomi Butler
